God created the heavens and the earth in 6 days and on the 7th day rested. It is very blunt about it and talks nothing about God creating the world in 1000 days/years. If God had intended it to be created in that many day or years he would have said so like he does all over the rest of the bible. It said each day was morning, afternoon, and night. So clearly God knew exaclty what he was saying when he wrote it. Go read the book of JOB to all the people who do not believe in this God said Where were you when I created the Heavens and earth! Obviously We werent here. Everywhere in Genesis 1-11 it talks about creation the fall of man corruption starting over . God had a purpose. If biblically trace back genealogy the earth is only somewhere between 6000-8000 years old. it clearly states that man was created with animals so everything has walked the earth since the beginning of time. If you have anymore questions then feel free to ask

Neither. The term 1,000 in ancient Semitic beliefs simply means a really long time.....not a literal one. I believe God created the world in 6 epochs or something as such.
The real message is that
1. God created everyting
2. Nothing was formed without his knowledge or consent
3. Each life form that came into being was of a higher order than that of the previous days.....hence his saving women for the last!!! :) Women are of the highest order.

No. Just how long ago the starry heavens and the earth were created is not stated in the Bible. Therefore, there is no basis for Bible scholars to take issue with scientific calculations of the age of the planet. Scientists estimate the age of some rocks as being three and a half billion years, and the earth itself as being about four to four and a half billion or more years.

7 day week
Ages of the patriarchs in genesis = 1650 years
there are 86,000 seven day weeks in 1650 years.
divide by 2 43,200
Why is this important beacause if you take that number it relates to the time it takes the earth to wobble through the vernal ecionox
and where we are in the solar system
same number is in hindu ,nordic, mayan, myth.
its about where we are in relation to the sun
If you have crops to plant your preists had better have the code for when to plant them hidden somewhere.
Read a book called the inner reaches of outer space by Jospeh Cambell he takes the numbers in relation to other mythologies
and the relation is amazing

God created the heavens and the earth in his day. what is a day to god? It is a measurement only God knows. We as mere humans live in awe of 24 hour life cycles on our tiny planet. God is awesome. Nobody can scale the time measurements that are used by God.

2n Peter chapter 3 verse 8 explains that 1000 yrs with man is just ONE day with the Lord. So each DAY in Genesis is actually 1000yr . Ergo 6 days are actually 6000 yrs.

Neither. The Earth is over 4.5 billion years old.
The universe is even older, around 14 billion years old. It contains hundreds of billions of galaxies, stars, and planets. These stellar objects are moving away from each other, and are so far away from us that it can take billions of years for their light to reach Earth. When you look up into the sky with a telescope, you are looking into the past.
No good feeling will change the facts of our universe.
And our ancient universe is infinitely more elegant than one that must be reduced to fit into the literal interpretation of a story.

If you mean the Christian God. I doubt that a God that can't even remember his name could create anything but chaos and pain.
If you don't like the answers here, why don't you go back to R & S.
