Whenever I have heartburn and dont have tums or medicine with me, I always eat a cucumber. most of the time it works.

Hope it all goes well.

Its totally safe to chew a couple of Tums along with a glass of milk. Calcium fights heartburn. Anyfoods containing acid, like citrus or sour things can trigger heartburn, aswell as anything spicy. I still have bad heartburn at 36 weeks :(

try chewing four Tum's tablets at one time. This will coat the stomach better than one. I disagree with the pickle and cucumber theories. That's just placing more acid into your stomach. You're hurting because your stomach is overloaded with acid.

If you still feel like this tomorrow you should see your medical doctor to make sure that it's not a problem with your heart. many people are having heart attacks when they have indigestion and don't realize it. If you're really concerned go to the emergency room.

one remedy i've used for years if the heartburn is soooo bad is.....take about of teaspoon of baking soda in a small glass of water. drink it down fast, like a shot. then follow with a drink of water. you will belch a lot for a while. but it will get the gas out of your stomach and give some instant relief
