it definetly is possible.... you pay them the amount of cash you have first and then give them the credit card and the swipe it for the amount due. You can use multiple payments pretty much anywhere- the only thing you usually can't do is use 2 credit cards from the same company (IE 2 visa cards or 2 American Express cards)

Live life on plastic. Credit cards, charge cards, debit cards are way better than cash. Cash is inconvenient because of loose change. America screwed up by having the penny. The govt looses so much money because people throw away loose change. A card transactions are good ways to monitor your spending and keep a paper trail without collecting receipts. I personally hate using cash because of the arbitrary pricing on products and services. Why would something be $0.99 cents instead of a dollar? Thats just 3 quarter, a dime, a nickel, and four pennies lost. Most people only bother to save the quarters, and the rest gets lost. Nothing automated even bothers to accept pennies, and minting a penny costs more in material than the face value. Anyway, cash is only used for tips, charity, and drug deals. Its because pocket change is considered worthless that these customs have been integrated in our economy.

Yeah, it's definitely possible. Where I work you can combine anything just about. The other day I did a 3 gift card, credit card, and cash sale. Ask each store directly, though. Some stores have different policies than others, I would assume.

most retailers systems can accept almost unlimited means of payments on the same transaction. I know WAL*MART can take coupons, cash, check, debit card, credit card, and gift card payments ALL ON ONE TRANSACTION. All you need to do is specify the amounts on each method of payment--cashier does the rest.

I don't see why you shouldn't be able to pay this way...although I wouldn't necessarily try it with a new employee.
