Among the survivors is a future mass murderer. Among the dead is a biologist that would have cured a cancer, saving the lives of millions.

Is this scenario impossible? Why?
If it is possible, explain how God could have let this happen?

No, not impossible. How could God let this happen? God is imaginary.

Certainly a possible scenario. The only way this is possible is if God could forsee certain future twists.

P= this mass murderer is going to repent and goes to heaven
Q= biologist is really wicked inside (full of "pride") and will go to hell
R = all those who died did their final prayers and accepted into heaven

When P, Q, and R are all true, way to go!
When P and Q are true, good enough!
When only R is true, still great in numbers!

first, it would not be possible for us to know that outcome

second, if the doctor died in the plane crash, he never created the cure, and it too is a non-issue

as for the killer, you need to understand something very sobering.

What is being played out on earth, by us humans, is in part of our making, part of our evil ways in creating and yet ultimately proving the Glory of God.

Isaiah was troubled by what he saw, and in it, the LORD gave him vision to see the LORD's hand in everything. yet the LORD did not do evil.

While I know this might be difficult to understand, there is more than enough in the world to be angry at God about without creating scenerios that you can't possibly know the outcome of. You are flirting with madness....not insanity, I mean anger that will become a thermal runaway.

you misunderstand god, and your misunderstanding is based on *religion*, a daughter of hope and fear, explaning to ignorance the unknowable. Totally a human construct. God may have indeed wound the clock, he is not reponsible if it keeps right time. When you slip on a patch of ice do you blame god ? If you burn your finger on a hot stove do you blame god ? I do not think so...
if indeed you do, you need serious help... your understanding of god is that of a 5 year old...
categorical and out of hand rejection of any hypothesis, including the god hypothess without a concrete scientific proof to the contrary constitutes an arrogant and ignorant act of intellectual bias and prejudice. I am assuming you do not have a proof he does not exist ? If I am right, you are committing just such an act.

Some might say that God isn't in charge of things here.

From a Biblical POV, Satan is in charge here in this world except inside of those who chose to follow God. God then works in the world through them. There was a line from an old song, "God has no hands here but ours."

The "Kingdom of God" is wherever they bring it - wherever they are doing his will. Until the Big Finale anyway...
