Not things that go outside of scripture like celibacy for priests or purgatory. They don't directly go against anything in the Bible. They're just extras added on later. I'm looking for things that are undeniably against the teachings pf the Bible.

1.Infant baptism - Bible shows us first you have to believe then you are baptized.
2.confessionals - You confess your sins to God and he forgives you
3.Unmarried priests - pastors are supposed to be married. The Bible says if they can't handle their own household they have no business running the church.
4.Indulgences - no such thing
5.Sin is sin.
6. Salvation is through the blood of Christ, not sacraments.
7. Scripture says These things I have written that you know you have eternal life. The pope says no one can know if you have salvation.
8. Mary was a person just like you or me. She is not divine, nor co-savior.
There's more. Jack Chick has a lot of publications that can get you started. I don't necessarily agree with him on everything, but it will get you started with your own search.

A few of the doctrines of the Catholic Church that are in obvious, direct disagreement with scripture are:

+ Catholicism: Slavery is evil and should not be allowed.
+ Bible: Slavery is allowed

+ Catholicism: Democracy is good.
+ Bible: Either God should be the leader of the nation like Israel before the kings or a king should be the leader, "Give to Caesar that which is Caesar's."

+ Catholicism: Go to church on Sunday
+ Bible: Go to church on Saturday (the Sabbath)

+ Catholicism: The death penalty should on be used as a last resort
+ Bible: the death penalty should be used liberally for things like:
. + Abuse of father or mother (Ex 21:15).
. + Speaking a curse over parents (Ex 21:17).
. + Blasphemy against God (Lev 24:14-16,23).
. + Breaking the Sabbath (Ex 31:14, Numb 15:32-36).
. + Practicing magic (Ex 22:18).
. + Fortune telling and practicing sorcery (Lev 20:27).
. + Religious people who mislead others to fall away (Deut 13:1-5, 18:20).
. + Adultery and fornication (Lev 20:10-12, Deut 22:22).
. + If a woman has intercourse before marriage (Deut 22:20-21).
. + If two people have intercourse when one of them is engaged. (Deut 22:23-24).
. + The daughter of a priest practicing prostitution (Lev 21:9).
. + Rape of someone who is engaged (Deut 22:25).
. + Worshipping idols (Ex 22:20, Lev 20:1-5, Deut 17:2-7).
. + Homosexuality (Lev 20:13).
. + Kidnapping (Ex 21:16).
. + To bear false testimony at a trial (Deut 19:16, 19).
. + Contempt of court (Deut 17:8-13).

+ Catholicism: God is a Trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
+ Bible: God is one.

+ Catholicism: The following 27 books should become the New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, Jude, and Revelation.
+ Bible: No mention of which early Christian writings should be in the Bible.

The Catholic Church does not use Holy Scripture as the only basis of doctrine. It could not. The early Catholic church existed before and during the time that the New Testament was written.

There were hundreds of Christian writings during the first and second centuries. Which New Testament writings would become official was not fully decided until about 400 C.E.

Catholics believe that the Holy Spirit was guiding the early church (and is guiding the church today) to make the correct choices about things like:
+ The Holy Trinity (which is also only hinted at in the Bible)
+ Going to church on Sunday instead of Saturday (which is actually directly against one of the Ten Commandments)
+ The Communion of Saints
+ Which writings include in the New Testament?

This second source of doctrine is called Apostolic Tradition.

Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours. (2 Thessalonians 2:15)

We instruct you, brothers, in the name of (our) Lord Jesus Christ,to shun any brother who conducts himself in a disorderly way and not according to the tradition they received from us. (2 Thessalonians 3:6)

I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming. (John 16:12-13)

I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold fast to the traditions, just as I handed them on to you. (1 Corinthians 11:2)

With love in Christ.

Catholicism and the current pope claim that it is the only way to God. All other faiths are non-faiths.... Jesus said... "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father (God) but by me." It is not the pope or a priest who assures our way to find God... but Jesus alone. Their worship of Mary (although not all Catholics do) is another area. She is not the 'queen of heaven' ...but just an ordinary woman who yielded her life and body to God for an extra-ordinary purpose. The Bible speaks of only one 'queen of heaven' and that was a heathen god in the old testament.
Their belief that the pope is infallible, ie that he can't make mistakes.... like God.... is totally errant. All men are born sinful including the pope and are in need of salvation.

In Mathew 23:9 it says "Moreover, do not call anyone your father on earth, for one is your Father, the heavenly One" Here, Jesus was speaking to the crowds regarding the scribes and Pharisees (religious leaders of his day) exposing them for being hypocrites! He calls them that several times and also refers to them as Serpents and offspring of vipers! Hence, priests have no business being called Father. Also we are not to pray to our Heavenly Father EXCEPT through JESUS. Not Mary or the saints or the rosary, etc.....John 14:6,1Timothy 2:5. And we are not to say our prayers repetitiously: "When praying, do not say the same things over and over again, just as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words" Mathew 6:7 These are a few examples, and there are several more. I didn't even get started on idol worship or venerating saints.

Transferable Merit of the Saints might qualify, but I don't know if Rome still does the "indulgences" schtick.

They believe that salvation is by works, by going to church, taking communion, confessing their sins to a priest, buying indulgences and getting baptized. The the Bible is clear that salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ and that he died for our sins. If you can work your way into Heaven then what did Jesus die for? If sacraments get you to Heaven they what did Jesus die for? If you can buy your way into Heaven then what did Jesus die for? and if salvation is by baptism then why does God not take us home the moment we get baptized?

They also believe in baptizing babies when the only people baptized in the Bible were adults. One person can not accept Jesus as the personal savior for another person. It is an individual, personal choice.
