No, it doesn't help me today or tomorrow in any way in this life. I surely am burdened by this life that i need all the time to engage in activities that actually help live it! Can't make sense of contradictory, esoteric, ancient stories and parables. I hate the feeling I get after I've read the bible and I think, "Ok...bless us today and I pray I can apply it." Where shall I apply most of the bible texts?

I am concerned about NOW.

No, but if you read pretty well try The God Delusion, and God is not Great -- how religion poisions everything.... on the NYTimes best seller lists for a year. If you don't have a closed mind, you for sure will learn lots. But then again, if you don't have at least a hs education, and average intelligence, really, don't bother... they would be above you... stick to fairytales and folk lore....

I'm halfway through a hitch-hiking holiday, and I forgot to bring it with me. I liked the irony of having in my bag a Bible plus two books on atheism ("The God Delusion" and "God Is Not Great"). But, as I say, I forgot the Bible. That's why I haven't read it today.

I STUDY God's Word. I READ Tom Clancy. I studied my Bible during the week in preparation for today's lesson. I read the passages to my class then we did a study of those passages.
