In 1903 the Wright Brothers didn't take a physical and look what they did.

Well the military has standards, unlike people living in civil life (just because his family invented a mechanical apparatus doesn't give them access into the military). Do we know if the Wright Brothers Great Grandson was of the "Right Stuff" maybe he was a whining Anti-Military Gay Commie type,
and unless he passed the medical he was never in flight school to begin with!

I would also imagine Henry Fords decedents have to apply for and be tested for a driving license, not much good saying "But Officer, my Great-Grandaddy was Henry Ford!"

there became into an entire article committed to this project interior the Smithsonian Air and area mag. This all occurred over one hundred years in the past and lots won't be able to be documented or shown. It became into the tip of the Smithsonian that it became into certainly the Wright Brothers who have been first yet this would not in any way deminish the accomplishments of Alberto Santos Dumont. In some countries, incredibly Brazil, Santos-Dumont is seen to be the inventor of the plane, with the aid of actual and public character of the 14-bis flight besides as some technical factors (see under.) This has been traditionally the actual place of the Brazilian government. The ultimate technical grievance of the Wrights' early plane is that, jointly as that's obvious that those plane would desire to maintain controlled flight, they continually used some style of suggestions to develop into airborne. the help ranged in type from requiring a stiff headwind, using launch rails, and/or using exterior thrust (a catapult) to acquire the mandatory airspeed for launch. As such, not one of the Wrights' early craft took off under their very own ability in calm wind from an problem-free floor floor as became into achieved via the flights of the 14-bis. In another countries, incredibly united states of america, the respect of first clever heavier-than-air flight is maximum in lots of circumstances assigned to the Wright brothers for their flight of 39 meters (a hundred and twenty ft) in 12 seconds on 17 December 1903 at Kitty Hawk in North Carolina. even with the undeniable fact that, even in those countries there remains a extreme regard for Santos-Dumont's accomplishments, and a popularity of the 14-bis flight as an important adventure in early aviation

The qualifications of going to flight school in the Air Force are for his and the safety of others. The Wright Brothers were not in the Air Force obviously and did not need to pass a physical.

There are many reasons a person can be disqualified from flight school. Vision, height and other physical issues can disqualify a person from going to flight school.

Was he kicked out of flight school or not allowed to join the Air Force, cause those are very different things. And by the way, I didn't see anything about this and I'd imagine they'd have publicized it.

Do you really think anyone on earth should be allowed to do what they want just because of who their great granddad was?

Why should any person unable to pass the physical be allowed to fly? There ARE standards and requirements that have to be met in most professions. Just because he has the name shouldn't give him any special leeway. Would you want the great grand son of the first person to do a brain operation to operate on you if he couldn't pass the requirements? Silly question, isn't it?

Well, then I'm sure he can still become a private pilot, or maybe even a commercial pilot. I'll remind you that that Orville Wright didn't fly at supersonic speeds with sidewinders mounted under the wings.

The Air Force is going to make sure only the best flies their planes. Sounds like they did their job.

I drive faster in my daily commute than the Wright Bros flew at Kitty Hawk. The world has changed.

The Wright brothers weren't going at Mach 3, pulling 5 Gs, with a good shot at blacking out if they weren't fit enough.
