I am 22 years old. I am trying to define myself, but I am scared of taking the wrong road.

My father and family want me to be a doctor since I was a little kid---I could never imagine being anything else, but a doctor. I actually went to science highschool to become a doctor. Unforetunately, I did not like math and science.

In college I was majoring in Political Science (IR) to become a diplomat---I very much love the subjects. Luckily, I had a great opportunity to do an internship at an embassy. I found out good and bad about the life of diplomats---I do not want to be a diplomat. Therefore, I am now doing my Master in Public Administration (HR). I will graduate in May. Honestly, I am now scared to find out that l actually do not like to work in this area and waste my time go to college.

What should I do? Please advice. Thank you very much.

Sorry for the poor grammar ---English is my second language.

It is smart of you to seek your natural course and not the one family selects .

There are many jobs that may come about because of your major .
Career is like going on a road trip .
It is only when you are on the trip that you find out what you like and don't like .
When something turns out to be not to your liking ,
Just adjust your course a bit .
It does not mean you have to do 4 years of college again ,
Just seek other opportunities in that general area .

But Warning : There is good and bad in EVERY job .
There is No job that is good ALL the time .
When you have a higher goal in that field ,
You will stick it out through the bad times .

You will be fine , no need for fear .
You are intelligent and make good choices .

It's okay to be scared about what your going to do. Your still young. Hopefully, you will like HR. If you don't, dont fret. You know three things that you do not want to be.
