Yes I am on the Track of Sufism, but yet to claim that I am a Sufi.

It was because of my Mother God Bless her, who directed me towards it.

The literal meaning of Sufi is the one who wears "Suf" Raw Woolen Garments and the inner meaning is from the word "Safi" which means Clean and Pure.

A Sufi is a person whose heart and Soul are Clean and Pure, who is fully contented with whatever God Allah bestows on him. A Misery or a Blessing is equal to him as he accepts it being from his Lord Almighty. They have no hate towards any body and they feel they are the meanest among all of the humanity.

There was a Companion of our Holy Prophet peace be on him and he asked the companion; how did you spend your night. He answered I saw the Throne of God Almighty and to me both the Gold and Rubble are same. There were a group of such companions of our Holy Prophet's time and they were named as "Ahl e Suffa" and they devoted all their time in remembering God Almighty. The name Sufi is also taken from their name Ahl e Suffa.

There is a Story written that Prophet Moses peace be on him asked about God's most obeadient servants and Allah told him if he can get a Human Flesh as an offering to Allah, he can know about it. Prophet Moses went asking for it and no one was prepared to give it. Finally Prophet Moses approached a saint Sufi who was secluded in a cave and when asked he jumped with joy and said take it from whichever part of my body you wanted for the sake of my Lord Almighty. When Prophet Moses took the Human Flesh, Allah said to him; that person is my beloved servant and of course even you would have given your own.

Please I cannot give you the reference of the book which I read the above episode, as I do not remember or have it right now. Let us take it as Moral and I donot mean to Degrade Prophet Moses peace be on him, Allah forgive me .

There are three types of persons among us who claim to be Sufis, as per the Great Sufis. One will be a "Sufi" as explained above the other "Mutasawwuf" means a person who is on the track of Sufism, but yet to achieve it and the third one is "Mustawsuf" means a pharmacy with drugs of all desease.

I just rate myself as "Mutasawwuf" a sincere student of Sufism. There are lot of Books available even in English, one of the famous is by name "Kashf ul Mahjoob" written by Ali Hujweri Allah be pleased with him, his resting place is in Lahore Pakistan.

If every one of us or most of us follow the track of Sufism, there shall be Prevailing Peace in this world today.

May God create True Love in our hearts and Soul towards the Lord Almighty and towards Humanity for which We all are sent into this World Amen.

In 1979 I met an old Sufi Master, saw only "Truth" in him and I have been a student of his teachings since that time.
You don't become a Sufi you simply follow the tradition that dates back to the time of Adam (PBUH).
Sufism is not a religion or a doctrine.
Sufism is a way of looking at the world and living within that world.
Sufi's practice immersion in life, not avoidance of life.
Sufism is a contemporary response to the needs of the time and culture within which it exists.
It's not everyday a person is blessed with meeting the Qutbiyyat (Ral)....................... http://www.bmf.org/
God (Allah) is the only true Sufi!
