Try soft-plastics.......worms, lizards. Choose your color and presentation according to the conditions your fishing in. I have been bass fishing for over 15 years....tournaments and for fun and when all other lures fail I will pick up my worm rod and catch fish. And this is just my opinion but i like ZOOM soft-plastics the best......and you can find them at Wal-Mart.......Good luck and Good fishin!

Well while you where in Wally world did you notice all the different kind of lures they had? That is only a small fraction of what is available on the market.
There is no one "Best Bass Lure" due to all the changes in fishing conditions that take place. Such as weather conditions, lake, river, water depth, water clarity, etc. etc.
If there was one lure I would not have a whole wall covered with peg board loaded with different baits for different lakes, seasons, etc. Fish are like women and their moods change at the drop of a hat LMAO.

The sexy shad that the one guy is talking about it made by strike king. Thats Kevin VanDam's lure model. Some good lures other than that are the spinnerbait, A rapala x-rap, Top water frog, and of course pastic worms. Texas rigged is very efficient and if you dont know how to do that try wacky worm. Just put the hook right through the middle of the plastic worm(6 inch) and than just twitch it slowly.

Skippy say depends on the weather, the water clarity, how deep the fish are, the sun, the moon....in other words, different situations call for different baits and sizes of baits. If there was just one lure that worked good, then their would be no such things as tackle boxes.
Skippy say know this if you are just getting into fishing. Eventually you will have to have huge boxes filled with tons of lures, many of the same types with different colors. And eventually you will need different rods and reels for each type of lure.

I catch bass on so many different lures that I couldn't even narrow it down to just a couple. Countdown rapalas, long A bombers, mepps spinners, worms, minnows, and many others. We have lots of bass around Michigan. I haven't gotten a keeper bass in nearly two weeks. Bass are quite easy to catch, and fight great. I release most of the bass I catch. Ya can't eat em all.

A broke back floating Rapala lure has always worked for me during the spawning months and powerbait worms of different colors or gulp during other times works great for me.

Bass can be a bit picky & challenging.(that's why I love to fish them) There are so many & each one of us could tell you a different one & they'd all be correct. But,I can tell you the one that I've always had the most success with has been artificial worms.

Any lure can be the best at any given time. My most likely choice
would be the Jitterbug.

Think "Pissed Off"...If you get a few baits that will irritate bass, they will usually hit it. They hit bait out of aggression about as much as hunger. They are very territorial...So if the bait looks like it will anger one...Try it.
