Cops trick criminals to make arrests easier, 'you won a car!' etc, can we do this with illegal immigrants?

Ever see that where the cops set up an operation to catch some criminals. They send mail or something, a phone call telling the wanted person that they won a vehicle and the person comes to pick it up and the arrest warrant is served. Can we do this to illegal immigrants? Tell them they won citizenship all they have to do is go for a short bus ride, etc? Legal? Ethical? Etc?

Sounds like a great plan to me! We need to get the word out that if you are here illegally you will be arrested. And as for as deportation goes I am not quite sure that works we take them back to the border they watch us drive off as they are climbing the fence! We need to have harsher punishment for these people that are breaking the law maybe some jail time in the tent city would work! I have nothing against immigration I just want people to do it legally and quit putting a strain on the country and my tax dollars!

Some good ideas to catch illegal immigrants, but you forget about all the protesters saying they have their rights, so there has to be another way. Here in California they should be able to do something along those lines with the winners of the different games that people buy tickets for. A good number can't talk the English language and need someone to tell them what's taking place. Let's not forget that the people from Mexico aren't the only illegal immigrants. ( No I'm not Mexican, just see alot more attention toward them )

It is legal and ethical, but it is a matter of the government having the manpower to run such operations. You aren't going to be able to have one or two locations in the nation, and it isn't something that the local authorities can do - it has to be Federal.

And the money it would cost to do this would cause most government officials to turn their noses up at the idea.

Personally, I think it is a marvelous idea, and that it should be done. What a novel concept - enforcing the laws of this nation!!

You would have to hire an illegal to drive that bus.
No American would take that job driving illegals back to Mexico only to seem them jump back in because the border is still wide open.

I am in favor of anything that even smells like law enforcement and border protection, even if it comes in the form of scams and lies.

Questioning ethics on something that is done in the USA by cops legally is not the issue. We all know that when it comes to "citizens' rights" vs. illegals rights, the illegals have the advantage.

The fact that it would be done to illegals would make them play the race card, regardless of the total lack of validity-they play it often.

You could make it the subject of a weekly tv program, that would help pay the expense's, I like it.
It is a misdemeanor to enter the states illegally the first time, a felony the second time. That is the law, read it.

I'm in favor of the tactic, it works well with criminals but probably wouldn't work with illegals because 1) the criminals that respond are not the brightest bunch around and 2) illegals are very wary about such things, they probably would not respond.

I think it`s a great idea,especially if an illegal shows up who`s a rapist or killer,etc. and get them the hell off the street. But now that everybody knows the plan from writing about it, who is going to fall for it?
