Would it change your belief in god if there is no afterlife and therefore no reward or punishment after this life? Your belief itself would be its sole reward. Just curious.

Yes, I would. God exists, and He is very real.

If we all died, dead as doornails, and that was it, the world would have been a better place if we all lived clean and decent lives, following God's commandments to ALL HIS CHILDREN OF WHATEVER RELIGION BELIEF OR CREED, to be loving and forgiving and generous and harmless and all that. Then kids would learn from our examples and good works. They would try to live the same way, to honour our memories. Then, our influence would be left behind, our influence for positive instead of negative, for good instead of evil. To that extent, if your postive influence remains, you will never die.

Computers, vehicles, planes, 3d printers, etc - where all science fiction till we worked out it's possible, but then they will call you crazy if you even suggested it. Yet human has decovered that there's more dimensions that we can't see in this universe. People first saw three/four, as they can see that and therefore it must be correct, however there's more dimensions we don't even know about. According to classical physics, 3 of space and 1 of time. According to String Theory, 10 in total. According to M Theory, 11 in total. There are also Theories of Space known as Hilbert Space and Function Space (in mathematics) which say there are infinite dimensions. So do you believe in another dimension that you can't see or that you have a soul? How about ghosts/spirits, just saying? Is time just a man made illusion? God was always there, and the body is just a host for a soul? It's a high probability, and the logics makes sense compared to other options or simply ignoring it.

It would be a huge difference but I think I would stil believe what I do now. I don't believe in the purpose of being rewarded, just like I don't believe 2+2=4 so that I get a good mark :))

Yes, dear one, I would believe in God if there was no afterlife. I believe in Him now, and He is so good to me now. I can only 'believe in faith' that there is an afterlife anyway. But then, I believe in faith that He loves me, that I'm sealed with His Spirit and nothing or nobody can take me from Him. In faith I believe He will protect me and guide. I receive rewards from God everyday of my life. In fact, all good things come from God! So whether their is an afterlife or not (of course I believe there is, because Jesus says there is), just being 'one' with Jesus 'now' is good enogh for me. Hope this helps.

first , i do believe in God. Jesus is my personal saviour,,if i died and there was no "afterlife" i will not have lost anything..however,if there is an afterlife, those that have rejected Jesus Christ, will have lost everything for all eternity..eternity never ends ,nor will the lake of fire that is for those people not found written in the book of life,,,now i ask you,is this a chance your willing to take ?...just curious..

The thing about it is that you don't find out until you are dead, so whats the point. If you live according to the bible at least you live a good life, & if you don't you have to struggle with life on your own lacking the freedom & peace that God gives you.

That's a good question. I once asked whether God favors those who serve him for the reward they will get, or whether he prefers those who serve him with no concern for personal gain -- those who serve God only for the glorification of God.

This is a question which church folks cannot comprehend, for they are in it for the personal reward. "What's in it for me." is at the very core of their religion.

Why always the hypotheticals??? I would believe in "god" if there was solid evidence. If there was a "god" there would be some.
