'closed communion?' how bizarre would THAT be? it's called 'the Lord's table', not 'my church's table'...i can't believe that any church could do that and still call itself a ' Christian church'

All this man made stuff in religion just bothers me so much.
Did God leave it open for all of His ppl to be in communion? YES. Even the visitors. PPL should know that taking communion without being in obedience to God is a serious thing to do, but then it should be offered and let each person, even the visitors deceide to take part of not. God is no respector of persons or religions.
There is only one true religion, that God of the Bible with the full teachings of Jesus Christ. Anything else if false religion according to the Holy Bible.
we are all equal in Gods eyes. It not like we the special ones can take communion but you who are less holy cant.
God hates this false religion stuff and it wil be destroyed.
LEts all get back to what God says in HIs word, and not what men in religion say. I see so much like this happened in churches today. Not all, but so much. LEts get in the right kind of churches where its done only GOds way or start our own.
Can you see Jesus offering lets say food to a huge group in a city, and some visitors are passing thru and HE wont include them, as the are visitors?? SOmeone I just know that would never be. LEts get this ERROR out of churches too.
Gods way or the highway.

I just want to say that all people ~NEED~ to know what exactly they are doing when taking communion.
Yes do this in remembrance of the Lord, but be prepared, be right- meaning if you have a problem with some on ask the Lord to forgive you....but if some one has a problem with you, you need to clear up the matter!
It is not to be taken lightly! That is the Blood of Christ and the broken body of Our Lord that shed blood for us, our sin.
~Offered to all, with Explanation of the consequences of not being prepared to take that precious Communion with the Lord, in His remembrance.~

As a Baptist I believe in open Communion. It is within the spirit of each believer to determine if they will participate in the Lord's Supper.
It is between the individual and God, not me.

At my church, we don't have "members". People don't have to petition for membership, and we don't keep a roster. If you believe, you're a member of the body of Christ. Why should you need to seek acceptance to join a specific congregation?

When we have Communion, anyone who feels led can take part.

My church practices open Communion. We don't check people's status at the door. All are welcome. Visitors are always invited to receive Communion.

I personally believe in Closed as the Church body is responsible for the purity of the ordnance. When Jesus instituted it in the upper room he only had the twelve. He did not do it with the hundreds of followers that were with him every day.

This is but one reason I believe that the people observing the ordinance together must have spiritual accountability to each other and this can only happen (out of pure logistics) unless you specify closed.

However, close is a close second ;-)

In my church a person has to be born again / saved. They must also be baptized in the Baptist Church and they must also be what we call RIGHT WITH GOD....no unconfessed sins. (Confession is to God not to another human being such as a Priest.) The Bible says that if a person receives Communion when they are unworthy of it they crucify Christ again and bring a curse upon themselves.

In our church you must believe in Christ's bodily presence in the Eucharist, and confess agreement with the historic teachings of the Lutheran Church.
