Atheism is not a belief, it's a lack of belief >> God/Theism.

No, I don't replace my lack of belief in a God with some other supernatural nonsense.

Human existence is finite.

I think the universe was created in a massive explosion, the earth is 4.5 billion years old, the planet gradually cooled and became amenable to life, living creatures evolved and became more complex, and viola, humans invented computers and here we are.

There was an awesome show on The History Channel a few weeks back about the history of our planet. You should watch it if you get a chance.

Can't speak for all atheists, but personally I believe in trying to be the best person I can be, without blaming or thanking anyone else for what I've done. People are just people, I personally get no comfort from telling myself I am forgiven through god's grace. It just doesn't mean anything to me. Hope this helps a little. :)

atheists don't believe in gods. atheists may hold any number of beliefs, but one cannot believe in gods and still be an atheist. so your question cannot really be answered, it depends on the individual. they may be materialists or humanists or nihilists... saying that a person is an atheist tells you almost nothing about what they believe.

Most Atheists hold strong humanistic values!
And they are better psychologically prepared for their role in society. They do not believe in the supernatural!... so for us there is no gods, devils, or spirits of any kind.
Our lives are guided by reason and common sense.

All that the word 'atheist' means is that the person thinks that there aren't any gods. Apart from that there aren't any principles as such that are covered by the term, unlike, say 'Christian' or 'Humanist'. So it would be possible to find two atheists who disagree on absolutely everything, apart from their shared belief that there aren't any gods.

I hope this helps.

I can tell you what this one suspects: I have studied the Bible so much that I strongly suspect the Bible god was invented by that pervert Moses and his syphilitic half-brother Aaron, not to mention his hunchback one-tooth sister Myriam.

Myriam, by the way, is referred to in the Bible as a prophet.

Anyway, Moses' mother was his dad's aunt; and he was a prolific writer and a bloodthirsty tyrant. His faithful militia the Levites, used to conduct pogroms on their own people, to eradicate political opposition, imagined or real.

I truly believe that there is insufficient empirical evidence to support the hypothesis of a god or gods. Therefore I truly believe there is no god or gods. That is it. That is all I believe insofar as atheism goes.

Edit. DRINK~~!!

I believe in lots of things-- treating people well, taking care of the people I love, bringing my best self to my work and my relationships. I just don't happen to believe in God.

All kinds of things. The only thing we have in common is that we don't believe in the existence of gods.
