Ok,,question. When you got the new master cylinder, did you follow the instuctions to bench bleed the master cylinder BEFORE you installed it? If not, there is air in there, that you cannot get out on the car.
I have the manual for that year Grand...sorry, you will have to take it to Jeep Dealer or GOOD brake shop who can electically energize the ABS pump to completely bleed the system. You actually confirmed this will your panic stop. I am not saying that it cannot be done manually, but the manual says the pump must be energized to complete the bleeding process.
Good Luck

i had the same problem with my xj a long time ago, i kept getting faulty master cylinders from auto zone . now im not trying to knock autozone but like everyone else they can get bad stuff from there distributors. there can also be a line open from bleeding the brakes .or you might need to bleed the brakes. ift his problem gradually occured or just occured out of knowwhere could be a bad part and changed it with another bad part, but if you did a brake job and now have this problem check your lines bleed your brakes, get a one man brake bleeder from any parts house, if it wont bleed and you keep getting air afther sucking all the fluid out , could be a open line ,bad master cyl. I got the brake bleeder and it let me know real quick there was a problem and helped narrow down where

STOP--go to a brake shop--they know how to BLEED the brakes and purge the air in your system. It is not a driveway type job and breezing into a tree or bridge abutment is not very nice.

You spent a lot on parts. Bleed the air from the system and it will work. It is obvious you are not experienced. Get a CHILTONS manual at auto store and learn how.
