Are you talking about ordering it at a coffee shop? No, it's not rude. If you're paying for it, you should get it the way you want it.

Not at all rude, you're paying for it.

Rather it is rude for the server to argue with you. For example, T.Hortons used to have SugarTwin as an optional sugar replacement, now I see they have Splenda, which just ain't the same thang! I bring my own SugarTwin and ask for a double-double, for I too, like it sweet. I add my own on my own and just leave them behind if they can't take orders. Why do they balk at my double-double with SugarTwin when there are others asking for triple-triple without the attitude. Hope this helps.

Ask for as much sugar as you like. I had an uncle who spooned sugar into his cup until it mounded above the coffee. Of course, this shouldn't be something you do frequently since that much sugar is actually not healthy. Maybe you can do part sugar and part Splenda or other sugar replacement. I understand Stevia is a good, sweet, non-chemical sugar replacement.

Nope, if that's what you want, then that's what you should ask for, "sweetie!"

However, I think a double-double is the same as a quadruple, isn't it? You might try asking for a sextuple (six)--just don't get confused and ask the waitress for a sex-tumble.

Paying or not, it's not rude. Just ask! But dont you think you should reduce your sugar level? 4 health concern?

Order it the way you want it. After all, you're paying for it (and probably a decent amount, since most coffee shops aren't cheap!) and you should get what you want. Just ask politely.

Are you using sugar as a sweetening agent? If so, why don't you just add some instant coffee to chocolate syrup.
