An off-duty sheriff's 20 year old deputy went on a shooting rampage at a home early Sunday in northern Wisconsin, killing six people and injuring a seventh before authorities fatally shot him, officials said.

The suspect was 20 years old and worked full-time as a Forest County deputy sheriff and part-time as a Crandon police officer, Sheriff Keith Van Cleve said. He would not release the suspect's name but said he was not working at the time of the shooting. The question everyone is asking is he an Iraqi war veteran?

Yes. 20 is too young. 21 is the minimum age almost everywhere for sworn law enforcement positions.

First of all, I find it really sad that we even have to question whether or not a 20 year old is a war veteran. It is just soooo young to be fighting in war.
I don't think that 20 is too young for some people to be a police officer. There are a lot of mature and well rounded 20 year olds. At the same time, there are a lot of 20 year olds who are not mature enough to handle the situations and make the decisions that a law enforcement officer needs to make on a daily basis. Every cop is supposed to be pre-screened by a psychologist prior to being hired. They also sit before a board of people for thier interview. Unfortunately sometimes people who suffer from psychological problems do get by the system.

the information did not provide any persons sufficient counsel on the 20 365 days previous law enforcement officers shooting spree. He would have had a great form of stress in his existence. They confirmed a image of the guy, he regarded ordinary sufficient. however, these days it form of feels that lots of the so talked approximately as 'shooters' are commonplace people such as you or I. My husband thinks he in basic terms had equipped up rage. Crimes like those are actually not limited by skill of age. previous people and young people and in between all have some undesirable apples. There are in basic terms some who're destined for worry. The older, or heavier the cop, the greater durable it incredibly is to capture the criminals. it incredibly is why, lots of the time, if something happens, the cop has backup reachable.
