Very likely apocryphal, but even so:
President Taft asked an Indian chief if the chief had any advice for him. The response? "Watch your immigration laws."

I agree with Wiseacre. I am a Christian. But I'm not even 10% of the man of the Christian missionaries that I know.
These people are truly nuts for Jesus. I'm not saying this in a bad sense. I'm just stating a fact.
One couple that I know from the USA have renounced a life of luxury. They could easily be living in a half million dollar house, but have given all of that up because they love God soooo much. Their love for God is so great, that they are literally living in a warzone in the middle east and are risking being kidnapped right now. In fact, one of their missionary friends was kidnapped about a month ago.
These people still will not leave. They don't want the land of those folks. They want to let the people of that country know that there is a way to God the Father and that way was provided by God Himself.

I met Desmond Tutu in the early 80s. True, Dynamic speaker.
It was in the 80s Desmond Tutu traveled around the USA giving the title of Bishop to various ministers with "Name-It-And-Claim-It" teachings, usually from Pentecostal backgrounds...without adequate researching these churches backgrounds. These churches were providing financial backing for Tutu's ministry and travels.
Chapel Hill Harvester Church, Decatur, GA, an Interdenominational Church was one of the churches. Pastor Earl Paulk, Jr., a man who had already had several accusations of sexually inappropriate behavior, forcing him to leave The Mt. Paran Church of God congregation, to start C.H.H. was one bestowed the title of "Bishop" by Desmond Tutu.
Bishop Earl Paulk, Jr., has been on the front page of the Atlanta Journal Constitution several times for his sexual impropriety and his numerous settlement regarding sexual abuse, including that of female children. But Paulk was considered a dynamic speaker...had loyal Christian followers and financial backers.
Desmond Tutu did nothing to review or at least keep watch on any of those affiliated with him and "His calling of God to anoint" these various ministers as "Bishops".
And Tutu had no problem leaving the title of "Bishop" with these Ministers or reaping the financial rewards that went with it.

Sometimes humor is used to convey truths too painful to otherwise speak. Whether or not there is a god I think most would agree that Tutu exemplifies that which is good about humanity.

Stated by an ignorant man.
Place this in contrast with the thousands and thousands and even hundreds of thousands of quotes praising the Bible and the work of missionaries.
It is the evil man who would wish to keep people suffering in darkness, while the ONLY reason you live in a civilized society and are able to flourish without having to kill to live is because of the influence of Christianity and the fact that your ancestors became Christians.
Why does the country of India consider missionary William Carey to be one of their greatest heroes, even putting him on their postage stamps? Because he gave away his life for the people of India, starting hospitals, orphanages, and hundreds of other blessing born out his belief in the Bible.
What about Mother Teresa, Hudson Taylor, David Livingstone, what about all my friends who are currently suffering hardship in foreign lands, having given up their lives of comfort here. Why? Are they stealing land? Absolutely not! They really do suffer, even to the point of losing their lives. An American couple was just killed in Pakistan that we were associated with.
You may not agree with their beliefs, not believing in the message of Christ yourself, but to question their motives is moronic and even....evil.
It so much easier to live in comfort here in the US buying things cheap that have been made by slave labor in China and Bangladesh, like you do, than it is to go and risk your very life suffering all kinds of discomforts just because you love people and want to help them.
