no. America’s first immigration legislation was adopted in 1789 as part of the establishment of the federal government and the year the U.S. Marshal’s office was brought into being. There, by definition, could be no illegal immigration until that time as there were no immigration laws.

I won't go into the undocumented immigrants part - I think everyone else pretty much covered it.
But, I will add, that Plymouth Rock was not the first European settlement. The first was the "lost" colony of Roanoke, est. 1585. The first permanent settlement was Jamestown in 1607. Plymouth Colony was not founded until 1620.

I thought the Jamestown landing in Virginia came first...
Good point though. The Eupopean settlers conquered the lands of all the Native American tribes and killed most of them through a combination of both conventional and biological (though usually by accident) warfare, and then forced the Native Americans to live on small reservations in the worst land in North America. Certainly much worse than anything the modern illegal aliens are doing.
EDIT: And to everyone who said that the European settlers didn't count as illegal aliens because the U.S. had yet to be founded, the settlers were technically illegal immigrants for several reasons because they were settling in the territory of another nation without permission or approval, and without being screened and identified by the tribe whose land they sellted on. Just because the tribes were small and in some ways less advanced then European societies does not mean they didn't have a right to their own territory.
EDIT: And to gcbtrading: Even though the ancestors of Native Americans originally lived in Siberia, they were still the first humans to live in America. Therefore they are native American, or at least much closer to native than anyone else.

There was no country here till the Founding Fathers established it. Before then it only consisted of migrant tribes that traveled around waging war on each other. So there was noway there could be any illegal aliens till after it was established as a sovereign nation.
The Founding Fathers created a society that was able to work together and move fore ward, they fought of invading forces, they expanded their territory, and the end result was the greatest country on Earth.

The laws have changed since my relatives came her as legal imigrants in the 1860's. Even they went through a process to be citizens.
Anyone here illegally is illegal, period... If they want to say they need to do as all imigrants thought histoy and follow the law.
the people on plymouth rock were not illegal.

No immigration laws no such thing as undocumented then. Quit trying to use what happened in history to justify what is happening in the world today.
