Shaw was speaking out of his Fabian-influenced perspective. While I understand his point, it gives too much credit to the personal interpretation of the Bible.

It is an unfortunate fact that all too many people are willing to accept what someone else tells them the Bible means; this is the case for the majority of believers.

That same argument can be used for any religious literature. The mind uses what input it has and outputs relevance. If something were input that appeared irrelevant, the output would be discarded. Same if you were reading any novel or publication. The Bible is there as a means to understand virtue and the path to God. Whoever knocks, the door shall be opened to them.

there still people believe in bible.Like me and my fellow brother in Church of god by the Lord Jesus Christ... isa.34:16 16 Search the book of the Lord, and see what he will do. Not one of these birds and animals will be missing, and none will lack a mate, for the Lord has promised this. His Spirit will make it all come true. 2 tim.3:15-17 15 You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. all I need is a sprituality wisdom...
