Disagree.
Many writings in the Gospals are "symbolic", even christians know this, BUT what a true Christian can do is understand and know the true meaning of what the text is symbolizing.
Taking a good look at modern day christianity, I really don't believe that most christians understand what this means with any given symbol found in the gospals, or the Old Testament for that matter because if they did know, THAN THERE WOULDN'T BE SO MANY DIFFERENT INTERPRETATIONS.
With any symbol that is written in the Holy Bible, there should only be one true meaning.
NOT A DIFFERENT MEANING WITH EACH BELIEVER.
I do however believe that Catholicism understands what it means to be symbolic for the Faithful believer in the Saviour. This is TRUE because they show this when they express their devotion to the saints as well.
Example would be:
On each of the candles that Catholicism uses for a specific saint, the picture in the front of the candle represents the purpose in prayer depicting the power of the saint.......THAT IS SYMBOLIC.

I agree. no longer something interior the Bible has been proved incorrect. The Bible speaks of the rabbit chewing this is cud (Lev. 11:sixteen). incredibly everyone concept this became into incorrect, till modern technology stumbled on that the rabbit DOES bite this is cud. The Bible is likewise magnificent relating to the around shape of the earth and dinosaurs. some issues, even with the undeniable fact that, atheists and Christians isn't waiting to agree on. An occasion is faith. Christians would desire to believe God with their faith. incredibly everyone has faith. once you take a seat in a chair, you have faith that it's going to save you up, top? And once you call somebody, you assume to take heed to the telephone ring, or a minimum of a message, do you no longer? you are able to't say which you haven't any longer have been given faith in something with the aid of fact once you do, you deceive your self. You prepare faith on a daily basis. yet another occasion is technology itself. technology can in uncomplicated terms work together with what's observable and tangible. It won't be able to word heaven, hell or God. yet we are able to look on the various evidences all around us that each thing the Bible says is precise. Fossils, to illustrate. Fossils won't be able to be formed over thousands and thousands of years. this is incredibly impossible. To type a fossil out of something it might desire to be buried at as quickly as. The Flood seems plenty greater straightforward to have self belief once you hear this, with the aid of fact being buried with water for 40 days could relatively get you fossilised. So, definite, the Bible is precise. It would not contradict technology. technology (actual technology, this is) suits completely with the Bible. Atheists, you probable won't like my answer. bypass forward. provide me a thumbs down in case you like. Do you incredibly think of you're doing any harm from it?

I'm a Jew(by birth, not observant but I'm still religious) and we wrote the Bible first. Are you telling me that Hitler's going to go to heaven because he's Christian and I'm going to hell because I'm Jewish? That's a load of crap buddy. There are alot of religions that are not based in Judeo/Christian theology. How can you be so sure that Christianity s the only way?

There is no prove that Christianity is true of false. Christianity is a belief.
There are so many biblical errors, that I honestly don't know where to begin.
Acts 1:7-8. I don't see any witnessing here.
You definitely aren't teaching to all nations?
You have definitely forgotten that "God not man judges".

erm, you have to prove the Bible is reliable. I suggest a dvd called "The Case for Christ". There's some good evidence for its reliability on that.
It's about faith. Only in a world where faith is difficult can it exist. The Bible doesn't prove it. You need faith for it to make sense to you.
I'm pretty sure this is satire, but some people think this, so I put a serious answer.
Phoenix: Job talks of God looking down on "the sphere of the earth".

You're correct that science is not necessary for faith in Christ and the Bible. However, scientific discoveries only add to my faith in God. With the complexity of nature it takes more faith to believe it developed randomly than to believe in a creator. In fact, science itself proves that order does not result from chaos without an intelligent force behind it.

Most people will say they are a good person when asked. But if you show them the standard of goodness in the law they can see that they have lied or stolen or lusted. Once this is done they will have concern about their eternal destiny. This is how Jesus taught the people, and why they developed a great love for Him. He was concerned that they didn't understand how to relate to God. Once He solved that problem they wanted to embrace Him.

Bad logic, circular reasoning. By the exact same reason why not worship Zeus? Or the egyptian gods?
Your logic is this - I wrote a book that says all sheep are purple. All sheep are purple because it is in a book. No matter what scientists or anyone says sheep are purple. You just have to take it on faith that they are purple because it is in the book i wrote.
Please. if you are going to argue for your religeon, take a few theology courses, and learn some basic logic. This is an question and answer forum and thus respects Logic more than unprovable faith.

No. Any book can assert its own veracity, and any book can give readers a sense that what it asserts is true. Many people have the same feeling that you describe about horoscopes in the newspaper. Does that make their belief as valid as yours? Absolutely. Does that make either of you correct? Absolutely not.
