seriously... if you believe that something is true, then you believe that it is true. different people believe in different things for different reasons. if you are following a religion and don't believe that it is true, then you are wasting your time.

Because truth matters. I was born into a Christian family, but had a time of unbelief, virtually atheism. Then, when I started thinking about all the facts and logic that make belief in God reasonable, I reconsidered Christianity. The Messianic prophecy, the evidence for the resurrection, the uncanny scientific insights in the Bible, were all quite persuasive. Ultimately, it was the miracle that did it. I got out of something you're never supposed to get out of. Can't explain. Anyway, God made Himself real to my intellect, then to my heart, then to my life.
People therefore must choose a religion because the law of non-contradiction does not permit reasonable people to believe in both A and Not A. Something has to give. I submit that those who profess universal tolerance are not really so tolerant as they think themselves to be. They hold a super-religious belief that says all other religion belief must be treated as equally true (or equally false, hat tip to the atheists among us). The Christian comes along and says, no, if one says A and the other says Not A, then one must be true and one false. The so-called tolerant ones then erupt in a litany of how horrible it is for us to reject their one great religious truth, that all religious truth systems are equally valid (or invalid). Talk about an exercise in irony!

Because people are foolish and choose a religion that suits them best rather than one that is based in absolute truth such as Christanity (with out the Catholic church just the Bible and Christs love). Why people are like lambs, I'm not sure you can go to the middle east and find out. For a lot of people its pressure from their pears or they would rather not follow a belief that might cause them to change their lives. I've had a lot of catholic friend convert to Christianity and they said it was hard to take the pressure from their parents but their lives are changed.

A lamb doesn't have to think for itself. It takes comfort in being with the flock. The other sheep lead it to good grazing and warn it of wolves. Then it is sheared of its extra hair so it doesn't have to worry about what to do with the extra it won't really miss anyway. And if the past is any example they all crusade to the slaughter house when the shepards decide.

My religion is a Faithful follower of Jesus Christ.
Believing in this specific religion to every depths of me, means that I am Faithful to the Image of God. Religion means to me how one lives life on the outside. With my having one Faith on the outside, gives me all the strength I need to overcome anything on the inside. An image for an image. Through this, the Lord gave me all the spirituality I will ever need to know to understand that there is more to the Image of God than what His ways speak of.

I actually follow three religions. The one I was brought up in, the one I married into, and one which I've been doing a lot of reading up on.
Among people I know, many who are believers do not attend houses of worship--pretty much for the reasons you have stated.

You say all religions.
What can you tell me about Heathenism?
Then don't claim all religions.
I don't follow what my parents believed. My parents don't follow what my parents believed. Most of us are Pagan now.
Some people find real peace in Christianity and have nice Churches. If you aren't happy with your faith then leave it. No one is making you stay.

I believed in a church cause my parents did. Later I realized it's nonsense. The Bible god is an invention of that pervert Moses and his syphilitic half-brother Aaron.

Most everyone believes what they learn from people who came before them. There are very few original thinkers. Those babbling about Christianity are no different. They all allow themselves to be brainwashed hoping for their little piece of fantasy La La land of eternity.

Yes they just follow what their parents taught them. On one side you can call it brainwashing but it could be just lack of intrest in searching for the truth (not everyone is hardcore in knowing what's gonna happen after death)
