hmmm.... I have birds of my own I have 5 actually.. and Mine got stained.. I got a low low tupperwear container , not deep and filled it with semi warm water.. and then i showed it to him.. Only one dosn't like It.. so i held him with a cloth and Then i talked to him for a bit.. And i said shh to talm him down and when he was a bit calm i rapped my finger in toylet papper and dapped the stain lightly and rubbed it.. eventually it came off. Ushually they like to bath them selfs so try the tupperwaer one first.

When the bird is feeling better, get a regular bath tub for parakeets. It has a mirror in the bottom and they will eventually get right in and take a bath on their own. I use to have to hold my finger in the tub to get them started at it, at first. My cockatiel doesn't like a bath though, and I have to mist him. If it is cool, all of my birds liked to be blow dried with the hair dryer on low, and held not too close.

When I handfeed baby birds they get formula all over the face. I hold them and get a warm not hot face clothe and hold it to the face til the food loosens.

It is ok to use them, but make sure you take the birds out of the cage and the water should be warm to help kill the germs and mites.
