who are the people on csi who are like detectives and hold guns. they do not use chemicals and stuff. and what class do you need to major in for that

CSI has no bearing on how actual police work is done.

The people on the scene are sworn officers who have had advanced training in evidence collection they may or may not have a college degree in a related field.

The people who do the analysis at the lab are civilians who are not armed investigators. They have degrees in forensics, chemistry, or biology. They do not arrest people, interview subjects, or work outside the laboratory.
