making a pumpkin pie? or will it ruin it?

I use one to make mine which seems to work out ok.

Hello, it should not hurt. Using a electric mixer for mixing the pumpkin filling just would make it smoother. I cook my fresh pumpkin with a little water down soft that it can to mashed with a folk or a potato masher and add other ingredents(eggs,sugar,Pet milk,spices,ect....) and mix with a hand electric mixer or wisk by hand and pour in your unbaked pie shell. It will turn out great.

I don't think the electric mixer is to much of a problem on most things you would use to make it have a smooth texture.But don't use the blender or it will be baby food texture.
