this story, "AUSTIN, Texas — Against his doctor's advice, a stooped and feeble Sen. Mario Gallegos arrives at the Texas legislature each day, just to make sure lawmakers do not take up a bill requiring voters to show identification proving they are not illegal immigrants." appeared on foxnews.com. (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,274774,00.html?sPage=fnc.specialsections/immigration )
to me, it should be in the mainstrwam media. The main reason that democrats are so opposed to showing any form of ID while voting is that they are wanting those illegal votes. After all, if a person needs ID to get welfare (and they do!) then why can't they show it to vote?
What good does trying to vote these creeps out of office do if they are getting illegal votes to stay in office? Why aren't they being prosecuted for voter fraud?
One interesting sidenote: the senator sounds like a hero, struggling with his life just to be there to block this bill- until you read at the very bottom of the article that he needed the liver transplant in the first place because of his own alcoholism. No pity for him from these quarters!!!

Just a note to Opal, it doesn't matter what Fox New's point of view is, the point is, the story is factually correct. That's all that really matters in this situation. The facts.

I thought I would let this pass, but I can't. Here's why NanaSoFr.....Can you go to France and vote? Can you go to Canada and vote? If you lived in either of those places illegally, do you think you could vote? How about England? Germany, maybe? Or, Oh My God, how about Mexico? What? You don't think so? Then WHY in the bloody HELL should illegal aliens vote here in the USA? My God, some people have no freaken' sense at all.

By refusing to enforce our laws they have made a mockery of our laws, what it means to be a citizen and now our right to vote. It was a mistake to ever make it where you sign up to vote at the same time you get your license. Especially if they are handing out licenses to illegals in some states or obviously not checking bogus papers.
For the life of me I cannot understand what is so wrong in expecting someone to prove they are a citizen in order to vote. At this rate we may as well just put our potential leaders on an internet site and let the whole darn world have a vote. Heck.....illegals are voting here and in Mexico....they have their darn politicians sticking their nose in our affairs and laws......I've had it myself. This is our country I could care less what any other country or a group of illegals have to say about how our country is run. Don't like it leave.
I know they found severe voter fraud here.....of course not for like 2 years after the election and the damage was already done. Dead people voting....illegals voting......illegal registrations....you name it.....they did it.
I know this was supposed to go before the supreme court but I haven't heard the results of that yet. All I know is I hope every last person running demands a recount and some follow-up with these illegal voting practices. Time to see some heads roll or we're going to be in worse shape than Mexico.

No way should any illegal be allowed to vote, in fact, they should not even be allowed near a voting booth, and anything you see or hear on or from Fox news is biased and should be ignored.
Now, for those bleeding hearts that want to give our country away, and allow the illegals the right to vote, I suggest you go back to Mexico with them as you sure don't appreciate the benefits of citizenship.
Why should any illegal have the right to say how we live, what our laws should be, what taxes we pay and how our government is run. As far as them douing jobs others won't do, just a bunch of bullcrap. Almost all jobs were filled before the invasion of illegals, and all they actually did was undercut the working conditions and wages of those already working those jobs, so that argumant sucks and doesn't hold water.

how ever they are doing it it's not legal as your supposed to be a citizen of the U.S. to be able to vote, so it's voter fraud. it's not being prosecuted because no one is calling them on it that's why? they must be lying on the form. duh, why would we think that that people who enter the country illegally would be truthful on a form? attached is a copy of the form. they just need to prosecute them as it is a crime. just another way to get rid of some of the illegals will be to prosecute them for voter fraud as it's perjury. why are they voting on this when all they have to do is start prosecuting people? another waste of taxpayers dollars. god, vote them all out!!!!! looks like anyone could ask for a recount maybe someone needs to approach an attorney looking to make a name for his self to challenge the process if the government refuses to do anything. in washington state it's a class C felony to lie on a voter registration form. know this that i'll be watching to see who comes and goes at my polling place, as washington state has a large illegal population. btw being a convicted felon would bar someone from becoming a U.S. citizen. i'll be looking to organize my state to make sure there is no voter fraud. here's the requirements to be a registered voter in the state of texas, be a U.S. citizen;be a resident of the county;
be 18 years old (you may register at 17 years and 10 months);
not a convicted felon (unless a person's sentence is completed, including any probation or parole)
not declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law

I wonder if any of those illegalls Gallegos is defending has offered him a liver? I doubt it.
Illegals should not be able to vote, but believe me, with the Identity Theft problem we have in the U.S., you can bet your bottom dollar that they are.
And if they are voting, guess who they are voting for....Hmmmmm...

Obviously I know nothing about the US electoral system. I would have assumed that everybody needed to show ID before voting. Otherwise, what's to stop them voting as many times as they feel like.
