i have a severe b12 deficency,i had proton radiation a year ago so that might be the cause but i have trouble eating meat,i wasnt always like that but looking at meat makes me sick also eggs,fish and milk,so that might be the cause also. is there anything like over the counter pills or any good food i cake take to get a good amount of b12??

also i have to get a b12 shot once a week for a month,i was wondering where do they inject the shot,it better not be the butt!

This is a list of foods rich in Vit B12 starting with the highest amounts:

Mollusks, clams
Liver, beef, braised
Fortified breakfast cereals, (100%) fortified)
Trout, rainbow, wild, cooked
Salmon, sockeye, cooked
Trout, rainbow, farmed, cooked
Beef, top sirloin, lean, choice, broiled
Fast Food, Cheeseburger, regular, double patty & bun
Fast Food, Taco
Fortified breakfast cereals (25% fortified)
Yogurt, plain, skim
Haddock, cooked
Clams, breaded & fried
Tuna, white, canned in water, drained solids
Milk
Pork, cured, ham, lean only, canned, roasted
Egg, whole, hard boiled
American pasteurized cheese food
Chicken, breast, meat only, roasted

Vitamin B12 shots can be given subcutaneously (under the skin) or Intramuscularly (either the butt or the upper arm)

You can pretty well put the shot wherever you want, the deltoid being by far most popular (upper arm). While it's possible you may have a dietary deficiency, most people with pernicious anemia (B12 deficiency) have it because they can't absorb it, not because they don't eat enough. You may have no choice but to continue the shots. As a rule, after the weekly shots the first month, they're only needed monthly thereafter.

Always be sure to give yourself balanced B vitamins like B100. B12 does better when the other B vitamins are present.
In the butt and it's a doosie too

the disorder is called pernicious anemia, and I have always seen the shot given in the upper arm but am sure they are able to give it in the butt if needed.

i give myself an injection of b12 every week as well. its sub-q which means under the skin. i pinch a small piece of skin on my belly and inject it there.... its a small needle so it doesnt hurt...

they can inject in the butt, but i always got mine in my upper arm.
