I have recently been troubled by horrible dreams, not scary nightmares, just horrible things and have been relieved to wake up and find it was not real. Does everyone do this? Do our brains tell us things when we are asleep?

I had a dream a few nights ago that my 14 year old sister had bigger biceps than me (21 male) at a family reunion. Man i hope that one doesnt come true. Any body want to guess what that dream stands for? I find scary dreams to be fun though.

I do all the time. It's gotten so bad I can tell when I'm dreaming now and can ususally wake myself up.I know I dream weird things because I work 7p-7a so when I hit the sack after taking my daughter to school in the morning I don't be in a deep sleep because I don't want to over sleep.I haf to pick her up from school at 3p.I be dreaming the world is comming to an end or werewolves are after me,but for some reason I haf to stand there and watch them change and then run.I be trying to hide up in the closet of the house I grew up in or like last night I had a dream that I was one of the ppl in resident evil and the zombies was after me and I was trying not to get bit and trying to collect food for me and my daughter and mom. It's crazy! The thing is I notice I only have these dreams when I have'nt had any sleep and I'm really tired. If I stay over at the hospital and do a double I'm really in for it when I go to sleep!lol

I have had dreams like that many times, and when i wake up then go back to sleep :: the dream continues!! anyways i dont know about the brain telling us things, i always thought that whatever happens when you are awake gets stored in your brain and is relived in your dreams.....:P

Yes i have this too. I seem to be plagued with nightmares and horrible dreams, a good dream is a rarety with me now. I think it has something to do with our real feelings( Sub concious) I dont think dreams are black and white though, they never seem to make sense or be simple in translation.

I have had dreams like that before, my dreams have been so bad that I will wake up crying. Sigmund Freud says in his dream interpretation book that our dreams that we can remember when we wake up tell us the things that we try to suppress when we are awake. However, there can be other things that affect your sleep such as your external environment.

Considering I die in about half my dreams...you can bet I am!

I can remember one dream that was like that, it was post-apocalyptic, and at health centers across the world every patient was being executed...it wasn't scary...just horrible.
