Okay, so i am half black, half white. my hair is mixed w/ "hey dont make fun of my high school fro" genes and flat, non-volume genes. its horrible. anyone else have this problem and kno how to fix it? i h8 straightening every time i wash it. i try herbal essences: 1dangerously straight, 2none of your frizziness shampoos, herbal essences: 3dangerously straight hair spray, umberto giannini: 4sleek and chic, john frieda: 5unruly frizz serum.
3, 4, and 5-to satisfaction. esp. 3 for straightening, but only waves.
but, i use the wet to straight straightener, to avail, but only if i take an entire hour w/ it. >:( not working out.
please try to help. i cant afford pro straightening perms, and the temp @home thing smells when i get it wet, hardly lasts, and i still had to straighten it when i washed it. my attempted optimism when i had it didnt work. i would kill to fix this. i kno someone else out there feels this way.. so if its u, plz help me!

with the amount you spent on all these products you could have got japanese straigetening done... try out at a couple of salons.. asians do it for cheaper price and it is maintanance free for 6months.. you can have a lovely frizz free straight hair :)... cant think of anything else other then his as you have mentioned pretty much all the others and you complain that nothing worked for you :(... dont panic after asking in one or two salons 'coz when I got mine done... most of the salons said it will cost me around 600-900 bucks.. I had to cut my hair until my shoulders and finally I got it done for around 150 bucks... i felt it is more than worth for the amount I spent 'coz it stayed for an year... i love my hair now :)

Have you tried a flat iron on your hair? If there's a Sally Beauty Supply in your area, go there and ask for help. The folks who work there a pretty knowlegable about all types of hair and the various products that you can use.....without having to resort to chemicals.
I definitely don't put chemical relaxers in my hair. Many years ago, I had a horrible experience and I haven't done that since. *smiles*

If you're half black, you should use products for black hair. You're using stuff for white hair, which requires stronger solutions of most everything. It'll fry yours, and it fries mine to a certain extent (I have Native American hair, very thick and stick-straight.) Even I use many ethnic hair care products, and mine's as straight as hair can be. Don't go near the Herbal Essences stuff--that's the worst for yours. Use Motions instead--it's light enough for Native hair, and should be good for yours as well.

Have you tried the MaxiGlide? You can get it at Linen n things, and its the only straightener that has ever worked on my friends hair (shes mixed too). The Wet-2-straight takes too long, the maxiglide goes much faster and keeps your under control longer.

brush your hair, then take a shower using herbal essence dangerously straight or just use your normal shampoo, when you get out, brush your hair again, then use a straighting mouse, then use the straightener. if its still curly then go over it again and for the finishing touch, put more of the straightening mouse. hope it works!
