My mom won't let me get highlights. But she is that kind of person who wouldn't even notice if they were there. What houshold products can dye hair blond. And if there are any, how long do you leave the coloring stuff in?

it'd be better if you'd just get hair dye and dye it.
but, if you don't wanna do that, lemon juice works a little but you have to sit in the sun for a while until you notice a difference.
hydrogen peroxide can also work and you just leave it in until you see a difference

If your hair is light brown or red to blond brown anyway - chamomile tea used as a rinse - after you shampoo and condition rinse with cooled chamomile and let dry naturally -the tannins will lighten an brighten your hair, for more dramatic highlights use lemon juice and tinfoil - soak strips of hair in lemon juice and wrap in foil dry with hair dryer and then rinse - don't shampoo for 24hrs to prevent over drying. Good Luck!

Household products wont lighten brown hair (your avatar looks like you have brown hair). The only way to do it is with an at home kit that bleaches. Go to a friend's house and do it there. Just realize your mom is going to notice.

Umm the only household item I would use would be lemon juice. Leave it in for a while and sit in the sun.
