am planing a trip with my friend out of state but i need a better car then my so can my mom or any other relative rent a car and give it to me while i pay them the money

You will have to be listed on the rental contract as an additional driver. Some rental car companies will do this - only if you take out the additional insurance on the rental car. Misleading the rental company can really jam you up if something happens to the rental car (does not matter if the something is your fault or not).

Best option - your mom rents a car - she drives the rental car and gives you and your friends her car to take on the trip.

they can rent it to your mom but not you. but they will not allow her to put you down as a secondary driver. if she rents the car for you and you get caught driving it, shes in a boat load of trouble. the youngest legal driver of a rental is 21 (for most companies but they charge you an extra $25.)

i dont think so. the car rental companies have a limit of 21. most of them, and even then they charge you a fee for being under 25. i havent heard of any that rent to people under 21.

I think drivers of rental cars have to be 21.
