I get frequent headaches (especially when I am reading or looking far away for any great length of time). I went to an eye doctor and she gave me reading glasses and said that I have "trouble focusing" but the glasses aren't really helping and I'm still getting headaches. Do I have astigmatism? Should I go see another eye doctor? Help!

I have an astigmatism, which I just found out when I went to the doctor about 6 months ago. I didn't have one before that and I wasn't aware that I have an astigmatism until my eye doctor told me. I haven't noticed any changes between now and when I didn't have one. It would be a good idea just to get a second opinion from another Doctor.

If you're accurately reporting the attitude and communication of that first doctor, you need another one!

You're not going to be able to decide about astigmatism
(or accommodatiion weakness, or binocular instability...) without decent professional advice.

You could, or it could be something else. I'd get a second opinion if they were my eyes. :)
