can people get your debit card pin?

i recently lost my card and i was wondering if they can get my pin and how in the world do they do that.

they could get lucky and guess it, most people use numbers like birthdays... so they could just guess it.

some places won't even ask for a pin, like a gas station.... some of them... .swipe the card and gas up. no pin required.

Unless you use a very obvious pin, they can't get it, but you still need to call the bank and report it lost so it can't be used.
