I just added "A.D." to my collection of Christian movies. I highly recommend it. Have you seen it?
I was struck how, at the end, the Romans were accusing the Christians of all sorts of lies to justify feeding them to the lions. It reminded me of Yahoo Answers. Nothing has changed in 2000 years. Godless, evil people still insult and persecute (verbally now) Christians, just like they did under that anti-Christ Nero. It was a good reminder of the world that we live in, in which they lie becomes the truth, and the truth becomes the lie..
If you have seen this movie, I'd like to hear your comments.

(I also recommend these other DVDs I bought: "Jesus of Nazareth", "Barabbas", "The Robe", "Demetrious and the Gladiators", "The Agony and the Ecstasy", "A Man For All Seasons", "The Song of Bernadette"

I saw that film years a go and it showed how corrupting the position of the Roman god-emperor was. The more often a lie is shouted the more likely it is to be believed;hence, we must use every opportunity to speak up to tell what the catholic fullness of the christian faith. states.

I liked Becket(as free with history as it was), I Confess by Hichcock and Assisi Underground as well as the films you mentioned.

"I was struck how, at the end, the Romans were accusing the Christians of all sorts of lies to justify feeding them to the lions."

Kinda like how the Christians later made all sorts of accusations to justify the genocide against the Albigensians and Waldensians, the Crusades, the Inquisition, the burning of millions of heretics and witches, and the support of fascist dictators like Mussolini?

"Godless, evil people still insult and persecute (verbally now) Christians"

Just like God-fearing, evil Pharisees sill insult and persecute atheists, heathens, and other non-believers?

It sounds really boring. I have enough boredom in my life without that kind of drivel.
