.. I would have bursted into laughter....
I had been in a similar situation before, but it matters on the occasion and the country how to react.
To my surprise I had learned abroad that in some places it is no offense at all to fart in public or during dinner.
Since I made that experience, I just ignore things like that.
Most of the time the person farted unintentionally and feels embarrassed... so you just behave as if nothing happened.
After all it can happen to anyone and I do not think you have to say excuse me or apologize for it.

EVERYONE should ignore the first fart. However, if the guest feels the offense coming on again, then he should excuse himself.

The guest was probably embarrassed to death. If the guest chose to ignore it then I'd follow suit. Personally, I'd have said something but I wasn't the guest.

Ignore it. Everyone, including you, farts fourteen times a day on average. Sometimes you can control them, sometimes they slip out. Commenting on it just makes it worse if the person is embarrassed.

Could be that they followed through, & were racking their brains on how to get to the rest room for a spot of damage limitation. Hence they forgot to say excuse me

Oh no
Ah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I think I farted again, I made people leave,
Offended my friends.
Oh baby, I just gave it a push,
I didn't know it was that serious,
I could knock down wild horses,
That smell's so fragrant to me.
Oh baby, baby
Oops, I'm breaking some wind,
I ripped a big fart, I feel so ashamed,
Oh baby, baby,
Please don't think I'm a hog, I swear its the dog,
I've got that flatulence.
"Britney- before you go on stage there's something I want you to have"
"Oh... Its beautiful! But wait a minute, isnt this...?"
"Yes. Yes it is. Gas-X and Beano. I went to the pharmacy to get it for you."
"Oh, you shouldn't have!"
"I had no choice, baby!"
Oops I farted again, my cheeks ripped apart,
There's no-one to blame, oh baby,
Oops, there's a sulphurous gas escaping my ***,
I've got that flatulence.
(Loud farting noise)
Oops..

If you ignored it, you did the right thing. This person may have hoped that you didn't notice. After all, it must have been embarrassing for him. If that were you, what would you have done?

It's good he/she ignored it and so should you. There is no need to acknowledge and embarrassing event.
