No really, they are freaking hilarious! For example "People who don't like thier beliefs laughed at shouldn't have such funny beliefs" and "The rapture? I'm not worried. Santa will save me."
I'm a theist (pagan) but seriously they so trip me out. Should I feel like a traitor?

No I'm laughing with the atheist just at what they say. It's so funny and sometimes so true.

You are NOT a traitor!! Well, if you are, you've got company. lol Some Atheists in here crack me up and they hit the nail on the head! It's the insecure in their own beliefs who feel offended by their remarks.

The difference between you and the "Religious" is YOU do NOT go around telling everyone else they MUST believe in your beliefs. You don't hide behind your gods or threats made by them. You allow others to believe as they want and are secure in your own beliefs, not taking offense to what other people say about "beliefs" in general.

It's not bad if you laugh with them (us), but don't laugh at them (us). But, I don't usually say/wear jokes like that, so don't associate all atheists in one group.
Some atheists wear shirts or bumper stickers that say stuff like that because they're hoping to change someone's mind by using cliche and useless phrases that someone else thought of. I prefer to make my own phrases. But I do like that Santa one! If you do analyze those phrases (which no one except atheists do), you'll find that some are quite clever. For example, the Santa one is saying that they feel like they will be saved by a mythological figure, which parallels Christianity. You may think they're funny, but it just makes some people laugh at themselves.

I also really agree with Phoenix up there! I feel the same way.

You can laugh with them, or at them! They saved my life!
The atheists, were a beacon , when I was wandering in the dark! And it was their sense of humor, that kept me from 'hangin' it up' at a time when I was lost and alone, in my heart! Losing faith, is like a death in the family! Limbo is scary! So when I started reading the answers from the atheists, and read the patience they displayed, it was like a bright light appearing, and showing me the way! I haven't learned their patience yet, I still get angry at stupidity, but they are my guidelines, and I'll get there eventually! And now when I look at some of these christins it bothers me! Not all of them are like that though! there are SOME Christians out there, that do show common sense, and courtesy, and are decent people!

But the fundies scare me with their ignorance and their arrogance, and their maniacal insistence, that it is 'their way, or the highway'!

As to what you believe? That is up to you!

And to "lucid freedom? Do doubt, had you been present as the Salem witch trials? You would have been one of those holding a torch, ready to light the pyre!!!!
nice christian,? huh!

Look at the definition of delusion:
an erroneous belief that is held in the face of evidence to the contrary

You can't reason with believers, they'll always come up with an explanation they're willing to accept. That explanation can have talking donkeys but they'll still accept it, and often times think you should accept it also! So, athiests write sarcastically, which is to be expected since they're talking to people who won't accept logic.

Is it wrong to laugh...? Heck no. Laugh until you tuchie gets a second crack and then go ahead and laugh some more.

Most of the humorous ridicule of theism is intended for you to see the bald-faced silliness of god-belief... Please try to keep the ideas and images in mind as you go about your daily activities - just keep smiling - and, most important, whenever you are faced with a statement of religious nonsense in public, let these tickled moments from R&S atheists rise to a full return of hilarity with forced belly-laughing volume.

Laughing in the face of blessed-ignorance is the most fun of all... and still they don't get it.

i'm no longer an atheist yet what that youngster pronounced to you is offensive. Why could you elect to have self belief in a God who we could his creation burn in hell or who 'gets' human beings any danger he gets. No thank you. that may not the style of God i've got self belief in. i've got not got self belief in Hell - its a lie made as much as scare human beings. And it dishonours God. he's unlike that during any respect. i understand you do not have self belief and that's incredibly as much as you yet purely decide to assert that as quickly as human beings arise with that little gem it makes me offended that God is being made out to be this vicious, bloodthirsty, torturous beast. this is not any longer the reality. If this is all I knew of what/who God is i could be turning my returned too. i understand you pronounced it became into for atheists in uncomplicated terms and that i'm sorry :-)

I can't figure it out either. Being one of the funniest people I have ever seen in the mirror, I still am amazed by the dogmaticism of my brethren. Doesn't mean I don't love, them, just , well, I hope that I am more accepting. But, you know, I don't believe in god, but sometimes, I think it is because I hate onion soup and all that it stands for.

A lot of the atheist answers on here seem to be humourous, so I say laugh away!

If I help to brighten your day with any of my answers, then my time has not been wasted. If I don't, I'll try harder . . .

No, they say it to be funny. They say it to make you laugh. It's perfectly all right!

I really am counting on Santa to save me though. I don't see what's so funny about that.

Just as long as you don't get offended when they laugh at the things *you* say. A little laughter goes a long way :)
