Leg Lifts.
Lay on you're back, butt off the ground, legs straight, ankles crossed at a 90 degree angle. Similar to crunches, lift you're back off the ground. But instead of your head curling up to meet your legs, vise versa, have your legs and back curl up to meet your head. This removes stress from your lower back, which is the most common injury in an abdominal exercise. Also, it prevents hiatal hernias.

Lie on the floor, arms at your sides. Crunch the upper part of your torso, by pulling your rib cage to your pelvis. Repeat twenty times. This is a crunch. Rest for a minute. Raise the number eventually, so you can really feel it.

Now raise your legs together until they are pointed directly up. Push your toes up toward the ceiling, Bringing your pelvis toward your rib cage. This is called a reverse crunch.
Repeat twenty times, and rest for a minute.

Now lower your legs to just above the floor. Hold that position, and then raise them, return them to the vertical position, where they were previously. Repeat that a number of times, never allowing your legs to touch the ground.

These exercises should be repeated daily. You'll work your abs, but until you lose weight, you won't see them. You have to reduce fat because you are what you eat.
All that other crap.

They say crunches actually make your stomach muscles bigger if you're trying to slim down. If you want to develop them, then I suppose crunches and situps are the best.
