Tulip- That is what I am getting at. Unless we practice our religious traditions with the aim of Pleasing God then there is no real use.

I am interested in both, there is a reason though. I am interested in traditional religions because I find it important and advantageous to perceive the reality of them in order to expand my own perspective. I utilize empathy, to rest within their condition, since of course when one is polarized to a religion it becomes filter of the world they observe. I seek to understand others from a higher perspective, to perceive the strength and weakness, in order to interact with them which in result is interacting with what they represent in me. I can help them to rediscover what they practice to see the true course of where their religion spring from. It helps to expand ones mind, to understand another and suspend ones self to see in them. However Traditions are pretty much man-made, but the movement is sourced from knowledge that is not of this world.

And of course I am interested in God, how can one exist apart from God? But I know that one can't know God until they know thy self. Much like a baby in the womb of the mother, can't know their Parents until they are born into the same reality they are by achieving the necessary completion in the process of these organic laws and then are raised up by the laws of their Parents/Source to become Adults, the image of their Parents. This one has grown their soul to Heaven, this one has come to Know Thy Self as divinity and knows the divinity and their relationship with God. Shalom.

I don't see how this is an obvious dig at Catholics or any particular religion.

I think most religions have a lot to offer, if only to show outsiders what the believers think. It can be really enlightening to look at religions and then see how it affects their followers.

I've certainly done a lot of study of religions...but I'm trying to be more into spirituality, as a personal goal. I've been burnt by religion in the past, so now I'm searching for what I truly think and believe, not regurgitating what I've been taught.

So, in a sort of academic, cultural study sorta way, I'm interested in religious traditions, but personally, I'm more interested in spirituality.

Religious traditions, however varied they maybe, for different sects in the world, all aim to pave a path to take us closer to the one eternal truth, and that is God.
Religious traditions show one's knowledge about one's culture, one's origin so are healthy to dabble in.But let them not distract one from the true reason behind these ----- the Light of Truth, God.

Well to get along in peace in my community and surrounding communities I would like to know what I can do/eat/etc. around different places. And I always enjoy any festival I can go to.

I always hope GOD has me penciled in to go to heaven, and have to rely on the bible as I am still alive. I am interested in details of how this or that was accomplished. I love the symmetry of life.

I guess I tip the scale at while alive getting to know traditions.

In God. Most traditions are from God given to prophets or teachers for the folk to focus on their submition. It is wise for a person to read on their own...just as a check and balance to ensure traditions are from God and not man-made.

I'm interested in God and not the religious ttraditions attached with serving him. Most christians tend to be preoccupied with the religious activities and bragging of how religious they are rather than observing the rules and guidelines God demands that we follow. I consider myself religious because I know sincerely that I try to follow all the regulations I'm obliged to.

Tradition is religion, religion and being religious does not secure salvation. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ- the One Who died for me is the only way! I just echoed what the bible says Jesus said: I am the Way - the Truth - and the Life, NO ONE comes to the Father except by ME!

real religious tradition leads one to God but obsession with customs can take one's eyes off the pursuit and submission to the divine.
Of course if one's "religious "traditions are immoral or violent or unhealthy, they will lead one away from God and the pursuit of the Good.
