The very best recipe I have ever made, and continue to make, is the Thanksgiving dinner recipe called the "Wayside Inn Roast Turkey". I found it in a recipe book written by Vincent Price, titled "A Treasury of Great Recipes". But, you can still find the recipes on the internet by googling "Wayside Inn Roast Turkey Recipe." It will make the best Thanksgiving dinner you have ever eaten.

I can't stand broccoli, as a young teenager, my step-mother made me eat a big helping of cooked broccoli. I had to stay at the table until I ate it all. By the time I finally gave in, it was cold. Every bite I took, I gagged. On about the 5th bite, I threw up all over my dinner plate. She never made me eat it again!

Choux buns with fresh cream and kiwi.
150 ml water, 50g butter, 60g plain flour, 2 beaten eggs, chocolate, slice of kiwi, carton of double cream- whipped, and icing sugar.
Turn on oven to 180 degrees, measure & prepare ingredients.
Put chopped butter into saucepan containing the water and melt.
Once boiling, throw in all the flour and stir well until you have a ball of paste.
Add the eggs slowly, whilst cooking on a moderate heat.
Spoon onto a greased baking tray (I go for six buns) and bung in the oven for about 15 to 20 mins.
Put on cooling rack and slice open to let steam out.
Put back in oven at low temp if too moist in the middle.
When cool, fill with cream, add some kiwi, melt some chocolate in the microwave and dribble over the top.
Sprinkle icing sugar over bun, and serve on chilled plate decorated with molten chocolate dribbles.

Amazingly simple... Naughty but nice too!

Homemade Bread! Don't let it intimidate you, making bread is really easy.

7 - 7 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1/4 c. sugar
2 t. salt
2 packages active dry yeast
2 c. very warm milk (120 to 130 degrees)
1/4 c. butter, room temp
3 eggs

In very large mixing bowl, combine 3 c. flour, sugar salt and yeast, add milk, softened butter and eggs. Beat with mixer, while scraping bowl, on low speed about 1 minute. Stir in enough of remaining flour , add 1 cup at a time, to make dough easy to handle. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead. Continue to add flour and knead for about 5 minutes -- dough should not be stiff, it should be soft, silky, not sticky. Place in a greased bowl, turn dough around in bowl so all sides are greased. Cover and let rise in warm place for about 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Grease 2 cookie sheets. Punch dough down, divide into two equal portions. Roll each portion into a rectangle, roll up. Place on cookie sheets with seam side down. Brush tops with melted butter. Cover and let rise in warm place for about 40 to 50 minutes. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix 2 T. cold water with 1 egg yolk. Brush tops with egg mixture. Bake 35 - 40 minutes, or until golden brown. Loaves should sound hollow when tapped when they are done. Transfer from cookie sheets to wire rack to cool.

I know it's hard, but let loaves cool before cutting -- they smell so good, the temptation to eat right away is overwhelming!

My Grandma's lemon meringue pie! I wish I had her recipe, and would give it to you if I did, but she never wrote it down so it was lost when she died. She always said she put in a handful of this and a pinch of that when anyone asked how she made something...a real old fashioned type cook that never used recipes.
