I recently started a new job, and in Iowa (most states I think) you are required to get your license when talking with people about insurance. Does anyone know how difficult this test is?
I will be dealing with PC only. (property and casualty)

I am too from Iowa and took the test. The test is Promissor which from what I'm told is ALOT easier then the old company. Are you dealing with All of P&C or just personal lines? I took my Personal lines test and passed fairly easy. If you go to the website www.promissor.com and follow along you can find a PDF outline of what exactly is on the test. Its not really in depth but does tell you what is needed to be known. I studied off of a book called Property and Casualty Exam Cram which I bought at barnes and noble for $40 which really helped. The Iowa stuff is kinda hard to find, my employer got a study guide from A&D Banker which was cool. FYI the test asks alot of the same questions, so be prepared! Hope this helps!!!!

The test can be tough and deals with all types of insurance - not just P&C. Mine had questions on inland marine, CGL, boiler and machinery.

You may want to enroll in a class. Your employer should be able to recommend one or may pay for you to attend. If you study you should be able to pass.

The test is difficult, but if you study and take the class (where available) you will do fine. Take the demo tests repeatedly, since they are very similar to the ones in the exam.
