Very nice flowers, yet I have discovered that a belief in God does not protect you from the evils in this world, If you continue to believe that one day you are going to be blindsided with a harsh dose of reality. Personal experience.

Yes. Especially if you are a Politician or an Evangelist. You won't last long in either capacity.

I would rather tell the truth and have a clear mind than to lie and feel guilty for it later. The world today has come to the point that lying is easier and excepted as the norm. However it is just an easy way out and wrong. It takes a person with a lot of guts to tell the truth even when it can get them into trouble. A coward will always opt for a lie. I remember one time at work my boss came to me and asked me if I had done something, well, knowing that I did do it, knowing that it was wrong I knew that I was going to get into trouble. However I knew that if I told a lie then I could not face myself in the mirror. I told her yes I had done it. She told me she was sorry that she had to write me up. But thanked me for telling the truth. The write up didn't end my life or my career and I walked out of there with my head held high. Later something else happen and she asked me if I did it, I had not done it and told her so. She smiled and said "Thank you." then she went on her way looking for who did it. She knew that she could rely on me not to lie. My mother is also someone who people can go to and know that with out a shadow of a doubt that what ever she says is the truth. Now which would you want to be labeled. A liar or someone others can trust.

Isn't it sad that we even have to ask a question like this. I'm sorry for what ever it is you are going through that makes you ponder this but the fact that you aren't looking for an easy way out is very brave and being brave is not a weakness. Honesty is only a virtue. How tactful you are with your honesty is however important. For instance, you should not lie to children even if the truth hurts them but instead you are honest with them about what they can handle. You may say something like..."Good people don't always make choices. When you are older and I think you can understand the situation better we can talk more about it until then you'll just have to trust me to take care of you the best way i know how." If you are having to be honest with a peer and you know it will hurt them always pray about it first. Ask that God will help you know how to talk to your friend and be empathetic and help you to speak in a way that will reach them and be as gentle as possible. Don't be mean in your honesty. Always be polite, and gentle and ask for guidance in the easiest and most difficult situations and God will ultimately bless you with your virtue. Good Luck! -flowers

Honesty is something you have to have strength for and mastery over the temptation to be dishonest.
Practice makes perfection. It is easy to tell a lie to get out of something. That is the easy way. Facing life responsibly requires character and a good character is honest .
In the end when you look at your record of life, you will find Honesty is not a weakness, it is a strength.

Honesty is not considered as a weakness. But people who are "habitual" liars view honest people as being weak in some sense because they get away with lying most of the time while those who tell the the truth usually gets rebuked.

Definitely not! It takes far more courage to be frank and honest that to hide behind half truths as most people do. Never regret being honest as people will respect you all the more. Isn't it strange when people fail to be totally honest that they themselves are either afraid of the consequences of telling the truth and in the process demonstrate a lack of strength of character?
Dishonest people only demonstrate their weakness whilst honest people demonstrate their strength

Only by those who are dishonest.
Honesty is a state of mind, those who consider that their own goals and wants are more important than their morality (think politician for some reason...) will always consider that the honest ones are weak. When they don't realise that they are the weak ones.

No, of course not. Ask the question this way. Is dishonesty considered a strength? Honesty can't be thought of in terms of a weakness or otherwise. It's thought of as the right thing to do.

it is a weakness only if you are of the evil one.

you must be honest (& of course born again) if you are to enter into the kingdom of God.

rev. 21:8 says,
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and ALL LIARS, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

An honest person is a secure person where a dishonest person is insecure, I feel dishonest people are created by Satan to be my play things in life. I like dishonest people very much because I can do with them as I please and no one cares except the next one in line.
