The so-called "Number of the Beast" has been associated with the devil because of various interpretations and myths relating it to such things as the year of the appearance of the Antichrist or the Apocolypse (amongst many other things) and that is why it makes many people uncomfortable.
Many of its associations with events or dates stem from its appearance in the Bible. However, the number also stems from pagan worship practices.
Some people find the number (and its association with the devil) "cool/edgy" because it causes so much discomfort and therefore pick it as their favorite number.
But you can simply like the number 666 for no reason other than the fact that you like three 6s in a row.

The number 666 is man's number. The Bible refers to this number as the "Mark of the Beast." It is the number of the Antichrist, who will come into power. The Bible gives him this number, but it also says that it is the number of a man, so we know that he will come in the form of a man.

is not, the 7 is used in the bible as representation of complete or perfect in spiritual thing and 6 is incomplete cause it is almost 7 but not 7.
