PS3 will win the console war, no doubt. Xbox 360 and Wii are so weak from technological point of view, that in couple of years they won't be capable of dealing with serious graphics. GTA IV, for instance, isn't even announced for Wii - this toy won't be able to cope with the game's requirements. Xbox 360 is getting GTA IV, however, the game is going to be released on several DVDs - Xbox 360 owners will have to interrupt gaming process and switch discs. Only PS3 will have it on single BD-DVD.

Let's compare PS3 and XBOX 360:

A third of XBOX 360 (33%) are malfunctioning right from the start. PS3 return rate is only around 0.2%.

PS3 has 7+1 kernels in Cell processor, Xbox 360 -only 3x2
PS3 uses advanced tech called Blu-Ray, one disc can store up to 54 gb (in the future - up to 200 gb), Xbox 360 - regular dual layer DVD-9 (8.5GB). It's possible to get HD-DVD (max. - 30GB) for 360, but it'll cost you around 180$, in this case Xbox is going to be MUCH more expensive, than PS3.
Calculations per sec - PS3 - 51-billion-dot-product-operati... per second
Xbox 360 - 33.6-billion-dot-product-opera... per second
PS3 has full media support - USBs, built-in card reader (except 20 gb version), ability to use printer and so on.
Xbox 360 has USBs and only 2 memory slots.
PS3 supports up to 7 Bluetooth Controllers
Xbox 360 - up to 4 Controllers
PS3 - wi-fi included (except 20 gb version)
Xbox 360 - wi-fi will cost you around 100 $

Graphics are stronger in PS3, due to RSX chip, that was developed by Nvidia exclusively for PS3. To estimate its power (roughly) - take 6800 Ultra nvidia graphics card, multiply it by 2 - get a result, still PS3 stronger, because 6800 Ultra runs on 400 Mhz and RSX runs on 550 Mhz.

PS3 uses technology from AGEIA company. It does to physics of the game same thing GPU (videocard processor) does to graphics. This thing is on sale for PC(special card). The price is around 350$. There is no such thing in 360.

Xbox 360 is widely known for so-called "red ring of death" problem - it gets overheated easily. My PS3 was running for more than 8 hours non-stop with no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melts, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it.

Besides all of this, I've seen disassembled Xbox 360 - regular PC architecture - Billy Gates is an uninventive nerd (as usual).
When I saw disassembled PS3 - it was a surprise - smart architecture, good cooling (don't buy external PS3 coolers - they make everything worse - original system is good), etc.

In 2008 PS3 will get more than 300 games, including Metal Gear Solid 4, The Agent and other great exclusives. Here is the good link to the future PS3 releases. http://ps3.ign.com/index/release.html......

PS3 online is free, Xbox 360 - you have to pay.

There were reports, that 360 scratches discs. No reports on that in PS3.

In some countries people call Xbox 360 "Coffin 360".

The funniest thing, that right now there are no games for PS3, that show full potential of the console.

On PS3 you can install other OS, such as Linux Yellow Dog, Ubuntu and others. Sony officially lets you do it. There is no such thing in 360.

PS3 HDD can be replaced easily with any 2.5" SATA 5400 RPM HDD (used in laptops). 120 GB will cost you around 120$. In 360 you have to buy exclusive HDD, where 20GB will cost you 100$.

Sony expects PS3 to stay on the market for, at least, 7-10 years. Also Sony reduces price now. Soon there is going to be cheaper 40GB version of PS3.

Sony constantly upgrades PS3 software (free updates for OS) - you get new functions and improvements.

I didn't mention Wii, because it's so weak, no point to talk about it. Leave it for kindergarten and casual games.

PS3. You get Blu-Ray and free internet so if the 360 alone is cheaper you're saving money elsewhere cause a HD-DVD drive for the 360 is like £120. PS3 is more powerful and is planned to last 10 years. Of course there isn't much graphical difference between the 360 and PS3 right now but the PS3 hasn't even been out a year and developers are still getting used to it. There are some great games for the PS3, with more variety than the shooters on Xbox such Heavenly Sword and Ninja gaiden Sigma as well as MGS4, Silent Hill 5, Uncharted and Final Fantasy XIII which are coming out. Also there is no red ring of death. Sorry I went on, but I'm tired of Xbox fanboys answering these questions without giving real reasons.

I'm only going to comment on what BIG BOI said since he doesnt seem to know what he is talking about.

I own both consoles and I feel that's the only way to go but don't listen to these kind of blind fanboys.

He says it has better graphics. That is most certainly not true. Although the PS3 has more potential they it is clear that the developers are nowhere near figuring out how to tap into that power. The cross platform games (games on both systems) look like crap on the PS3 compared to the 360. And he talks about Heavenly Sword. Man. The main characters feet stay inside the ground. She's walking on her freaking ankles through most of the game. I could go on but I'll move to another point.

DVD player: Of course the 360 has a DVD player and of course you can download movies and store them on your 360.

Sixaxis: I do like this feature but I would gladly trade it in for rumble which the PS3 does not currently have. Although it will in the future but you will have to buy the 60 dollar controller seperatly. Currently the only game the sixaxis works well with (in my opinon) is Heavenly Sword. It makes Lair play like crap.

Free online gaming: If you can't afford 50 dollars a year for Xbox Live. You don't need to be spending money on gaming. You need to spend it on going back to school and getting a better job.

Bluetooth headsets: I hate them and half of the people on the PSN don't have them. I might as well be playing against the computer because I can't talk to the people I'm playing with. I prefer an old style headset but that's all preference.

High reliability: He's right there but the 360 has a 3 year warrenty on the three rings of death. I have had it happen to mine twice but they sent me a new one in 3 weeks.

Music player: Of course you can store music on a 360. You can play it off an iPod because I do it all the time. Of course you can play music from a CD too.

Can play PS1 or PS2 games: That depends. If you buy a new one without the Emotion Engine chip then it won't play the majority of them. If you buy a new 80 gig or one of the newer 40 gigs that are coming out then you are out of luck. If you want backwards compatability you will have to buy the 60 gig which thank God I did. They are running out of them so if you can find one and you want a PS3 I suggest you buy it.

No matter what the potential of a system it all comes down to games. Look at the game line up for each system and figure out which one looks best to you. Right now the 360 has a better lineup........there is no arguing that. Or you could "invest" in the future. Which has always been funny to me. That's what all the Sony fanboys would have you think you are doing. Investing in your future gaming. Kinda funny to me.

Hey.........it's a cheap blu-ray player. Although I like my Samsung blu-ray player a hell of a lot better.

Have fun..game on. If you have any more questions just ask.

Go with PS3, It'll cost u less in the long run (money and sanity) First of all to play live on Xbox, u need $120 wireless adapter (or wired ethernet cable if ur xbox is close to ur router..) and $60/month for live subscription. And in PS3 its free and you get a browser too so u can chek ur email, hit up youtube, w.e. So unless your hardcore gamer which it doesnt look like u r, the ps3 is better for online. Now although it seems more expensive is u factor the internet costs you've just saved $200! Now the most important reason is RRoD (Red Ring of Death) Xbox360 has massive hardware problems which they dont seem to wanna put any time into fixing. And even if you wait for a 65nm GPU like the "pros" at Xbox.com Forum might tell u to, if that were to fail, which is a good chance it will MS will send you a refurb with older, crappier internals. So to save yourself alot of hassle, just go with Playstation 3.

Heres my list of what the PS3 has, more than half of these feautures are not on the 360. Its got better graphics, blue ray disc player, DVD player (Can also store movies), has sixaxis (A feauture that is kind of something you find on the wii, for example in Heavenly Sword when you shoot an arrow you can hold down square to steer the arrow so you tilt the control up down or side to try to hit your target. So basically you can be the arrow), the PS3 has free online gaming, it's compatible with bluetooth headsets, very high reliability, Can store pictures, music player (can store music on there from an mp3 player, iPod, or a cd), Can play both PS2 and PS1 games, can download games or demos from the PS store, wifi built inside for browsing the internet or online gaming, 60 GB which is more than enough, and thats all i got, oh can't forget the fact that it is THE BEST GAMING SYSTEM EVER. GO FOR THE PS3

Take a look at this link it shows you more details about the sixaxis with heavenly sword

My boyfriend got an x-box 360 and sold it for a ps3. The main benefit of the ps3 is that in the x-box the fan is REALLY loud, you have to turn the tv up to hear whats being said in the game. The ps3 is really quiet. However, if you choose the x-box, lay it down flat, it you stand it up, it can start to scratch the discs. Oh- and my boyfriend says the online functions are better on the ps3

The PS3 has a bigger potential than the XBOX 360. You cant compete with it cell processor and all its hardware junk.
Plus its a blu ray player. which is most like the next gen dvd player.

heres wat it is.

right now, xbox is far superior because of its online and the amount of games right now.

right now, ps3 sucks because it doesnt have a lot of games. but it has free online.

if u give ps3 a year, it will gather so many games like metal gear solid, gran turismo, gta4, devil may cry, and so many others.

and ps3 is going to get home. a virtual meeting place like 2nd life.

so yah, if u buy ps3 now, you'll be investing in its potential for 2008 and 2009 which will be great.

but if u cant wait, buy a 360 now.

PS3 because a XBOX 360 can get the red rings of death anytime. The rings indicate that your XBOX 360 is dead and you need a new one. My friend bought one and he got the RRD in 2 months! PS3 may be expensive but it lasts much longer.

Hey,
If you need to download Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes you can get it here for free: http://bitly.com/1uSG3w3

As a Metal Gear game, its gameplay is based on stealth and playing while remaining unnoticed.
It's my favourite game.
