There's a place called Luigi's House, in Aurora. It may be a bit pricey, but the portion is very generous. Plus, this is my first choice of a true italian restaurant that really has good food and quality. You won't regret it, I swear. I'm usually very skeptical about italian food, but this is GOOD. Don't forget to try their tiramisu. It's heavenly!

Palermo's really is great (if you're willing to drive to Oak Lawn), but I go to Rosebud or RoSal's (on Taylor Street--RoSal's is cheaper) for the best pasta in the city proper...plus all the people on Taylor talk like Super Fans and who doesn't love that? Maggiano's and Giordano's are popular, but Maggiano's is way too Americanized and Giordano's gave my dad food poisoning. If you want pizza go to Lou Malnati's.

If you are out south go to Palermo's. It is on 95th street about a block west of Cicero ave. in Oak Lawn. They have great pizza and sandwiches. They have all kinds of Italian food also. It is a little more than other places, not much more, but well worth it. They have great lunch deals too!! Here is their webpage:

I would have to recommend Freddy's Pizza in Cicero. It is on 16th St. and two blocks west of Austin BLVD.
I would also recommend Marconi's Ristorante in LaGrange. Excellent Northern Italian Cuisine.

La Sorella Di Francesca on Jefferson in Naperville. My wife and I have been going there for over 10 years. We have always had great food, great service, & great drinks. The Brushcette ala Romano is the best. You have got to try it!

Do you mind going further north? Dave's Italian in Evanston is so good! And so cheap! They might seem to be mobbed with people waiting, but the line moves fast and you always get in.
