Well yesterday was my highschools homecoming dance. A few days ago I finally got the courage to ask a girl to the dance with me, and she said yes. She's in 10th grade I'm in 11th. Well she is very pretty and attractive so thats why it was kind of hard for me to ask her, but whatever.
Anyway at the dance, we met up and she started talking to all her friends, while I knew none of them. Some of them were nice enough to introduce themselves to me and I did the same back.
So about 40mins into the dance, my date pulls me to the side and she says "hey, can you give me a little space." i was like yeah sure. In my head I had no idea what was going on. I didn't talk to her the rest of the night and just kind of chilled wiht people in my own grade. My question is why would she do that??

Because you two had nothing in common and you asked her for the sole reason that she looks good.
Bad on your part, sorry.

She sounds like she is immature and used the opportunity to get to a dance and then quickly be socially inappropriate and hang with her friends.
Perhaps the two of you should have talked before the dance, "since you met up", what you expected from each other.
I definitely would not ask her to any social event in the near future as she seems to be more interested in her own needs and friends than she does with her date.

Girls need their space, especially if your two dont know eachother that well. She probably just wanted to hang out with her friends for a little bit. She also may have thought that you were too interested in her and was a little nervous and wanted a lttle space. Its hard to tell exactly what is was until you talk to her again and see her reaction. Best of luck.

she is a t fault here not you i mean if she agreed to be your date she's not supposed to dance with you then tell you to give her space . if she was your date you are supposed to hang out together i mean she can hang out with her friends too but if you didn't really hang out with her for the rest of the night then something went wrong maybe she didn't consider this a date if i were you i'd forget about her

She used you to either get into homecoming or just to go. Let it go. Sorry about your luck, but find someone willing to at least stay with you during the dances. She is very rude

no clue, maybe social status? Peer pressure? Or it could just be because you can't exactly relate that much to them because you're a year older and that things might've changed for them in 10th grade, and you don't know what they're doing

well i think it was wrong for her to say that she would come to the dance with you then ditch oyu at the dance........but you should have gotten to know her first and you shouldn't go out with someone just becuase they are pretty. i know if someone did that to me i would be extremely mad. anyway i think you were both wrong in a way but sorry it turned out like that

It's possible that she felt a little suffocated by you, and she just wanted to have fun with her friends. Best way to find out is to ask her.
