My parents have a beagle and she sheds but not alot and our wiener dogs shed alot more. I love their beagle and when she is bred I am going to take one of the puppies. The reason I want a beagle is because they are very loving dogs that are smaller in size but are still very active. I want a dog who would love to go hiking and for walks on the beach. They can also be very calm when they are indoors. She loves to cuddle too. They are very loyal to their owners.

They are very smart dogs and you can train them but it will take some work as it would with any dogs. Also as to the poster that says they bark alot my parents beagle hardly ever barks I think I have only heard her do it once.

All dogs shed unless you get a poodle or something with poodle in it. I have a dog that's 1/4 beagle and she's the best dog I could ask for. She has the beagle temperment and the beagle nose. My boyfriend has 2 younger kids and she absolutely loves them. So I would have to say that I definately would recommend a beagle.

Beagles do not shed a lot. My little Chi Terrier is the one that covers my house with hair. How such a little dog can shed so much and not be bald I'll never. The Beagle and the Pits shed very little.
A Beagle is a great dog. You do have to be careful feeding them, too much and they get fat overnight. Mine does not bark a lot. Of my 4 dogs he is the last one to bark at anything. And when he gets into it he has that hound bay that can be pretty loud. They are very loving and funny at times. Here is a shot of my clown.

my mom has a beagle and they do tend to shed but they are great dogs. they need alot of attention though, if you are not home alot i wouldnt recommend a beagle , they are pack dogs and they need people or another dog around to keep them company. they are very friendly and loyal dogs!

All short haired breeds have two shedding seasons.I do not recommend a Beagle unless you are ok with hearing the thing bark constantly and never leave you alone. They can also be tricky to housebreak.

Mostly all dogs shed. If you have allergies or just don't like the shedding aspect of a dog you can get a poodle. Poodles do not shed, so they'd be safe for ya.

I love ALL dogs, but, yah, it is a poodle... LOL

beagles do not shed a lot. I do not recommend beagles. they are very high energy dogs. I recommend that you get a dog called a Brussels Griffin. they are the cutest and and most loving dogs. but you should probably get two if you can. just goggle them and see what you get. a great website to get them is mystic fur babies. enjoy
