I really need to know what type of conditions the painting should be placed under so that it doesn't fade or get ruin in any way.

Thanks for your help! :-)

Hello,

I have quite a few water colors. The biggest things to remember are:

1) To keep them away from any direct sunlight. Regard them as vampires in that respect.

2) Store in a dark room when not hanging with a humidity of around 40 % - 50%.

3) Make sure you seal the back of the frame so their are no cracks where insects can enter and stain the painting when they die or do their business.

4) Do not frame them with that non-glare greyish glass. Apparently certain rays of light get in, other rays or blocked but apparently it can discolor your painting in time.

Cheers,

Michael Kelly

Dry, out of direct sunlight and hanging on a wall. You can put them behind glass but that isn't necessary unless there is smoking in that room (not only bad for people).

If you REALLY don't want anything to happen to it...put it in an air conditioned safe.
