Talk to your insureres - this is a very very grey area!

Only you need to be on the insurance unless the person accompanying you has to drive the car too. However if they have their own car & insurance and are covered to drive other cars with the owners permission then although this will be third party cover only it is perfectly legal as long as they dont drive it on a regualr basis. If in doubt speak to your insurance company

(Make sure your policy includes business use and is NOT restricted to SDPP)

If you want a policy so that anyone can drive then you need an 'any driver' policy - very expensive - but I suggest you contact an insurance broker as I don't think many companies offer 'open driving' policies on the internet.

However the person accompanying you does not have to be named on the policy unless they actually drive it - as the vehicle is under your control. This, however, would cause problems if they felt that you were unable to control the car. In that case they ** might ** be able to drive it on their own policy under the 'driving other cars' extension. I refer to previous comments I have posted about this benefit and how few people understand it.

Are they going to be driving the car? Contact your insurance agent and ask since they are all different.

You do not need to put anyone else on the insurance unless they are going to drive your car. if they are going to drive your car under these circumstances you must insure for any driver.

You don't need to. Anyone driving or in the car with your permission will be covered on the usual policy.
