If you are changing your last name then it's the first letter of what will be your new name.
If you want to incorporate your first name initials than it's his name first - last name in the middle - your name third
(I don't know what to do if you aren't changing your last name)

A monogram on a wedding invite (or any other surface, I've seen them on towels and bookends before too) is normally the first letter of the wife's name, the first letter of the couple's last name, and the first letter of the husband's first name (or vice versa, I'm fairly certian the order of the wife and husband's first initial doesn't matter much).

You should use the first letter of the last name that you will use once you are married.

I wouldn't use his. It isn't your name yet. Will you be filling out the envelope return address with his name or yours? Most people won't recognize it coming from you without your name, and the bride is responsible for the invitations. So, you need to use the first initial of your current last name. I didn't use monogrammed stickers. I chose flowers.

why dont you use the first letter of your new last name (thats if your going to change it to his) it makes more sense than having his letter of his first name

Are you taking his last name as your married name? If so, yes it would be his.
