I maintain my Top Contributor badge spending less then 1/2 an hour a day here, which I split up into short sessions over a 10-12 hour period. And WITHOUT TRYING I get 4-5 best answers a week. When I try, I can get a couple each day.

Anyway, sorry to hear you're stupid (the past tense of pay is spelled paid.) The word 'payed' refers to giving out rope. I believe this is taught in fourth or fifth grade vocabulary.

No, they're not necessarily intelligent. Some are, of course, but some are real losers that only got the position for spending too much time online.

No, usually the smart ones are the ones who got Top Contributor and then stayed away until the title disappeared.

Smart enough to know how to spell ones. And I doubt I would be able to read as many books as I do (plus hold down a full time job) if I spent all my time here.
Kyralan- since Einstein's IQ was around 160, I think you can stop now.

No one gets paid for mucking around with YQ&A. No data is available, but it is reasonable to suppose that in general Top Contributors are intelligent -- it seems that scoring a lot of Best Answers contributes to that tag, and it seems likely that intelligent answers are more likely to be chosen as Best.

Certainly not. All you need to do is answer a lot of questions & vote for your own answers (to get your percentage of "best answers" up.) That's how I became top contributor for a while (& no, we don't get paid.) These days I don't bother with Y!A nearly as much, as I'm too busy expanding on my 187 IQ (which requires NOT spending time here, as this site is about kid's opinions & not valid questions/answers, typically.)

No. The site is run as a game. It is really more a discussion site than an answer site.
